?Chapter 3126:
Ernest brought N indoors, made sure she wasfortable, and called the doctor to look her over. The doctor then gave her a shot so she could rest.
“Grandma.” Ernest dragged a chair close and sat beside the bed. “You should get some sleep. I’ll stay here until you do.”
Noticing the worry on his face, N offered a light smile and flicked her hand. “Don’t worry. I’m perfectly fine.”
Ernest’s chest tightened with regret. “I’ve caused you trouble, and I shouldn’t have let things reach this point.” He hated the thought of dragging her across countries when she should have been restingfortably at home.
“Enough of that,” she replied firmly. N had no patience for self-me. “You are my grandson, and this is my responsibility.” She gave his hand a gentle tap. “If I cannot stand by you when life bes difficult, then what purpose has my life served?”

Ernest’s gaze dropped to the floor, and he stayed quiet.
“Set your worries aside,” N spoke with a light smile. “I’ve maintained my health well. I’ll be heading to Ironspire soon.”
Ironspire?
Realization then dawned on Ernest. “Eric and Hadley will hold their wedding there.”
“That’s right.”
N nodded with a smile. “They had their share of troubles. But luckily, now that everything’s ready, it should be easy.” Eric would be fine, and now she could not shake her concern for Ernest.
“I hope you and Elissa can sort out your issues soon,” she added.
“Okay.” Ernest gave a firm nod. His heart echoed the same wish.
“Now, let me rest.” N adjusted the nket and instructed him, “You need to speak with Elissa’s family and set a day for me to visit.”
She wanted everything arranged properly, whether she went to apologize or to begin formal discussions on other matters.
She believed that in marriage, the bride’s family should be treated with respect, and the groom’s family had to show humility, especially in their case.
“Yes, I understand.”
After N drifted into a deep sleep, Ernest stepped out of the room and told the doctor and nurse to watch over her properly. He walked out of the vi and made his way toward the vineyard. His mind kept circling the thought of seeing Elissa.
He had given his word that he’d return, so he intended to go through with it. If she was nowhere to be found, he would return to the estate and arrange an official visit just as his grandmother wanted.
When he arrived at the vineyard, a guard mentioned that Savannah was still on the premises and had not left.
Ernest let out a breath of relief and pressed the doorbell.
Savannah and Elissa were spending time with Ethan in the nursery.
A servant entered and reported, “Ma’am, Mr. Flynn is here.”
Upon hearing this, Elissa kept her silence but stared at Savannah with a hopeful look.
“Alright.” Savannah responded with a nod.
She had been sorting out her thoughts for quite some time. While facing her daughter, she said, “Stay here with Ethan. I will go downstairs and speak with him.”
Her words clearly showed that she wanted to keep them apart.
“Okay.” Elissa pressed her lips together. The disappointment showed on her face, yet she did not dare to protest.
Savannah let out a quiet breath, stood up, and walked downstairs.
Ernest was waiting in the living room. The moment he noticed Savannahing alone, a trace of disappointment passed through his eyes. “Mrs. Brown.”
“Please have a seat.” Savannah made a slight motion with her hand.
“Thank you.” Ernest took the seat she indicated. He wasted no time. “My grandmother has been settled. She asked me toe here and find out when she may conveniently visit.”
The news made Savannah crease her brows. She looked genuinely troubled.
N had journeyed from Srixby to Ontmond despite her fragile condition. The trip must have been exhausting and dangerous.
This was the first real sign that their side was willing to show goodwill.
“Fine.” Savannah eventually gave a nod after taking her time to think it over.
Spending some time with N and listening to whatever she wished to say might help her see the situation from a different perspective.
