?Chapter 3085:
Then a thought suddenly struck him.
His gaze softened as it settled on her pale, gentle face. “Elissa, do you remember who I am?”
Elissa went still, the cloth hovering just above his skin. “You’re…”
The name hovered on her tongue, but she swallowed it back, remembering how it used to set him off. The words caught in her throat.
Ernest understood anyway.
????v?? ???????? ???????????????? ?o??еl?? ???? ??????????????l??.??o??
A faint, rueful smile crossed his face. Her memories were still a blur, but he couldn’t hold that against her.
“You mean to say…” Ernest’s voice stayed soft, his eyes steady. “You think I’m Robin, don’t you?”
“Yes.” Elissa tensed and gave a quick nod. “Yes!”
The truth hit him, sharp and clear.
A hollowugh escaped Ernest’s lips.
“Elissa.” He hesitated before offering a faint smile. “That’s not my name. I’m not Robin.”
Elissa gave a gentle nod. She understood it now.
Robin was a different man altogether, and the thought of him still made her uneasy.
“Listen to me,” Ernest said gently, his tone slow and patient. “My name’s Ernest.”
“Ernest?”
“Correct, that’s my name—E-R-N-E-S-T, Ernest.” As he spoke, he held her hand and traced the letters of his name across her palm.
“I see.” Elissa nced down, then lifted her eyes and nodded, finally understanding.
“And Flynn’s myst name.” He traced the next word. “I am Ernest Flynn.”
“Ernest Flynn,” Elissa repeated, her tone steady and deliberate.
“That’s it.” Ernest leaned closer, his voice low enough to stir the air beside her ear. “You can just call me Ernest.”
“Ernest.”
“Exactly.”
Seeing the tips of her ears flush pink, Ernest leaned in and blew gently against them.
“But if you’d prefer, you can call me honey, like before. I’d like that even more.”
Elissa’s cheeks burned red all over again. She quickly covered his mouth with her hand. “You’re being silly again!”
“Would I ever?” Ernest said with a teasing grin.
They were still wrapped up in each other when Elissa’s phone suddenly rang—Savannah’s name shing on the screen.
“It’s my mother!” Elissa eximed, startled.
Snatching up her phone, she answered quickly. “Mom?”
“Elissa?” came Savannah’s voice, a bit breathless. “You’re out with Emma again? When are youing home? It’s gettingte.”
“We’re heading back soon.”
“Okay. Just be careful on your way.”
“Yeah, I got it.”
When she hung up, Elissa pressed her lips together and looked at Ernest, uncertain. “I need to go.”
“Sure.” Ernest couldn’t bring himself to make things any harder for her.
Her heart lingered with him, and that was more than enough for now.
“I’ll give Emma a call then.”
“Alright,” Ernest replied with a nod.
Elissa turned away and started dialing. “Emma, it’s me…”
Ernest stayed silent, waiting until she ended the call.
He then took her hand gently. “When will I see you tomorrow?”
