Chapter 3084

    ?Chapter 3084:

“Hold on!” Elissa called out, stopping him mid-step.

    “What’s wrong?”

“Your shirt…” Elissa gestured toward the damp side of his clothes.

“Oh.” Ernest gave a lightugh. “Guess I should change first.”

    “Alright,” Elissa said.

He paused for a moment. “Maybe you should tag along. I’m scared you’ll leave the second I turn around.”

“I won’t!” Elissa eximed, her cheeks ring again with sudden color.

Her reaction made him smile, but Ernest decided not to push her. “Fine, I’ll go by myself then,” he said. “Just promise you won’t touch anything while I’m gone.”

“I heard you,” Elissa muttered with a slight frown. “You sure like to nag.”

Getting irritated already? Ernest arched a brow, deciding it was safer to leave before she snapped at him.

    “Stay put till I’m back.”

He headed upstairs, swapped his clothes, and returned.

Elissa sat quietly on the sofa, pulling the medicine bottles from the bag one at a time and lining them up in neat rows on the table.

Since it didn’t seem dangerous, he decided not to interfere.

Leaving her there, Ernest walked into the kitchen and warmed up the food.

When he returned, he reached for Elissa’s hand and gently led her toward the dining table.

“What’s this about?” Elissa asked as he eased her into a chair.

“Just stay here with me,” Ernest said, settling down beside her. “Food’s always better when you’re around.”

“If you say so.” Elissa tried to hide her smile, but it still tugged at the corners of her lips.

When he finished his meal, she ced the pills carefully in his palm. “Here. Take these.”

“Alright.” Without ncing at them, Ernest tossed the medicine into his mouth, chased it with a gulp of water, and swallowed.

“There’s something else,” Elissa said, pointing to the cuts on his head and cheek. “You need to clean those and wrap them again.”

In a quiet, hesitant tone, she asked, “Would you like me to do it for you?”

“Sure.” Ernest gave a slight nod, a hint of a smile on his lips.

If anyone was in danger, it was him, not her, so he didn’t see the harm in it.

It didn’t matter whether she did a good job bandaging him up or not. He just wanted her near, and this was reason enough.

Elissa lifted Ernest’s bangs carefully, revealing a deep cut on his forehead that had been stitched twice.

Her brow furrowed as she dabbed disinfectant on it. “Those awful men!”

They were the ones who picked the fight. He only stepped in to defend her, yet he was the one who ended up hurt.

“Yeah. Awful men,” Ernest repeated, copying her tone with a serious look.
