Chapter 3059

    ?Chapter 3059:

“Elissa?” Ernest’s voice broke with panic. “I…”

Catching his mistake, he stumbled to fix it. “That’s not what I meant. I wasn’t saying you weren’t enough, I just—”

Frustration surged through him, hot and uncontroble.

“It’s on me! I shouldn’t have said that!”

In a frantic attempt to make things right, he caught her hand and gave himself a sharp tap on the cheek. “If you’re upset, then get mad at me instead.”

Pulling her hand free, Elissa backed away, her strength fading as tears gathered in her eyes.

    “Elissa?”

A heavy unease rose in Ernest’s chest. He had wounded Elissa more deeply than he realized. The weight of it pressed on him, stealing the air from his lungs.

“I understand.” Elissa’s lips trembled as she spoke, her tone brittle and proud. “Nobody could ever like someone like me.”

Her mother’s words echoed in her mind—he truly couldn’t stand her after all.

She tried to break free from his hold. “I don’t need you. I can walk perfectly fine!”

“Elissa!” Ernest’s voice cracked with helplessness as he tightened his grip. “You can’t. Please, let me carry you.”

Once they reached the hotel, Ernest excused himself first, aware that Savannah wouldn’t want to see him anywhere near Elissa.

Steven and Emma took Elissa upstairs first, and afterward, Steven walked Emma back to her room.

What they might have told Savannah—or whether they even brought up his name—was a mystery Ernest didn’t dare dwell on.

By the time everything calmed down, the first hints of daylight were creeping through the horizon.

After a long shower, Ernest stretched out on the bed, yet sleep refused toe.

He’d told Savannah earlier that Elissa no longer remembering her past might be a good thing. In his heart, he’d mistaken that as a chance to start over with her.

But what he failed to consider was that it also opened doors to other men in her life.

Sleep had barely touched him when Ernest rose hourster and began to prepare for departure. Today marked the day he would finally leave this ce behind.

Before heading out, he decided to stop by the hotel restaurant for a quick breakfast.

    “Mr. Flynn.”

Standing by the entrance, he caught sight of Emma approaching.

“Miss Carrillo.” Ernest inclined his head politely, noticing that she hade alone.

“Are you able to walk properly now?” he asked.

“I am.” Emma returned his look with a light smile. “It doesn’t hurt much anymore. As long as I don’t push it too hard, I can manage.”

With a small gesture, Ernest invited her to go in ahead of him.

    “Thanks.”

Since the restaurant was still quiet, they settled near the window and ced their orders.

Just then, Neville stepped in, followed closely by Savannah and Elissa.

“I’ll grab us a table first,” Neville said before moving farther inside.

“Alright.” Savannah gave a brief nod, her eyes drifting toward the window where Ernest and Emma sat together. Her gaze flicked to Elissa, who seemed equally drawn to the sight.

With a quiet sigh, Savannah slipped her hand around Elissa’s arm. “Let’s go. Your dad’s already calling us over.”

    “Alright.”

Lowering her eyes, Elissa leaned close to her mother and followed her toward their table.

By the time they arrived, Neville was speaking with the waiter.

“Same order as usual?” he asked, looking at both women.

    “That’s fine,” Savannah replied.

“Thank you, Dad,” Elissa added gently.

    “Great.”

Once the food arrived, the three began their meal in calm silence.

In the middle of breakfast, Savannah’s phone buzzed on the table. She answered it right away.

    “Hello?”

Robin’s voice came through the line.

“You’ve arrived? Okay. We’ll head out soon.”

Once the call ended, Savannah turned toward her daughter. “Elissa, do you still remember Robin?”

For a moment, Elissa hesitated before giving a small nod. “I do.”
