?Chapter 3058:
Choosing not to join in, Ernest quietly said, “I’ll settle the bill. Wait here, and I’lle back for you.”
Thisst statement was meant for Emma, because he nned toe back and help her get her ankle bandaged up.
“Alright, thank you.” Emma gave him a grateful smile.
Right after Ernest stepped away, Steven shed a grin and sent Emma a yful wink. “Mr. Flynn looks cold, but he treats you with real care.”
Emma lifted her brows and shook her head, correcting him gently. “Don’t say such things. Mr. Flynn is polite, and he’s not being unusually thoughtful toward me. If you were the one who sprained your ankle, he would help you the same way.”
As she continued, she shifted her gaze toward Elissa, who kept her head lowered and drifted deep into her own thoughts.
Once Emma finished getting her bandage wrapped, Steven brought the car around to the main entrance.
Parking at the front was restricted, so Steven stayed inside the vehicle while waiting.
Ernest handled the task of guiding both women outside.

He escorted Emma first and then made his way back for Elissa.
Ernest leaned down slightly and offered his arm to her.
Elissa pursed her lips before cing her hand on his arm, and she muttered, “Thank you.”
She behaved with careful courtesy.
Ernest lifted the corner of his mouth, yet her formality irritated him even more.
He reached out with his free arm and steadied her by holding her shoulder with one hand and her wrist with the other so she could walk without wobbling.
Elissa stiffened as she tried to adjust her shoulder.
“Don’t move!” Ernest lowered his gaze to her, his tone carrying a firmmand. “Right now, I’m the only one keeping you steady!”
He carried a forcefulness that felt overwhelming.
Elissa tensed at first and realized she couldn’t pull away, so she lowered her head and stayed quiet.
“Not saying anything?”
The irritation inside Ernest rose sharply. “You seemed quite talkative with Steven a while ago.”
Was that true?
Elissa wanted to object, yet after thinking about it, she sealed her lips and chose silence.
Ernest let out a cold sneer. “Did you really stop caring about me just like that? Then who do you care about now?”
The jealousy in his tone was impossible to miss.
“Is it Steven? Is that it? Ha!”
Before Elissa could form a reply, Ernest acted as though he no longer cared to hear it.
He let out a coldugh and spoke with sharp cruelty.
“Did Steven give you a bit of kindness, and now you think he’s interested in you? That flirt has never been serious about anyone. Why would he suddenly choose you? Are you out of your mind?”
Elissa went pale right away, her breath quickening as she stared at him without finding a single word to defend herself.
He wasn’t handsome at all.
How could anyone call him handsome? He looked downright awful.
