?Chapter 3057:
“Alright.” Emma held his arm, and the two of them moved toward the examination room at a steady pace.
Steven carried the ice pack and stepped forward to assist Elissa. “It’s your turn now. We should let the doctor check you first, alright?”
“Alright,” Elissa said.
“I’ll guide you.”
“I appreciate it.”
Meanwhile, Ernest supported Emma, and after only a few steps, he suddenly nced back and saw Steven leading Elissa inside the doctor’s office. His frown grew deeper.
Emma noticed his change in focus and turned her head, looking in the same direction he was watching.

Was his attention fixed on Elissa?
Emma narrowed her eyes a little, wondering if her own mind were ying tricks on her, yet there was something subtle lingering between Ernest and Elissa that she couldn’t ignore.
“Mr. Flynn?”
“Yes.” Ernest pulled himself back to the moment and shifted his gaze away. “Let’s go.”
“Okay…”
After Emmapleted her check-up, Ernest guided her outside. Elissa had already finished with the doctor and had returned to her earlier seat.
Steven stayed close by and crouched in front of her while holding the ice pack to her ankle.
He raised his eyes to her and asked, “Is it too cold for you?”
Elissa gave a small shake of her head. “It feels a little cold, but I can manage.”
“Then stay patient for a bit…” Steven said. “The doctor said you need the ice pack… Don’t move.”
“Alright.” Elissa nodded and remained still.
Ernest stood nearby and stared at them with a faint curl of disdain forming on his lips.
She imed she didn’t like him? So she refused to let him help her?
However, she allowed Steven to handle it. Did that mean she cared for Steven?
Hadley believed he was seeing another woman, yet the truth might lean in the opposite direction.
Beside him, Emma caught the sound of his scoff and nced at him with interest.
Ernest and Elissa shared an odd tension… not just odd, but unsettlingly so.
“Emma.” Steven noticed their arrival. “Did you finish your check-up?”
“Yes.” Emma gave a nod and settled beside Elissa.
“Elissa, were you able to meet the doctor? What did they tell you? Do you need anything else examined?”
“That won’t be necessary,” Steven responded before Elissa could speak. “The doctor said her bones and ligaments are in good shape. It’s only a muscle strain. She just needs to ice it and use a medicated patch afterward.”
“I’m d to hear that.”
Emma released a gentle sigh, feeling her chest ease. She had taken it upon herself to look after Elissa, after all.
“And you? How are you feeling?”
“I’m fine as well. Just a minor ligament pull. It only needs to be wrapped properly.”
Elissa’s condition wasn’t as severe as hers, though Emma’s injury required a bit more care.
