Chapter 2986:
What was that? Off the ground?
Hadley stood frozen, her mind nk with confusion. Before she could gather her thoughts, Eric’s warm hand closed around hers. Wordlessly, he guided her out of Crimson House, their footsteps soft against the marble floor as the cool night air greeted them in the backyard.
A helipad stretched before them, its silver outline faintly visible under the dim garden lights.
Hadley frowned slightly, uncertainty flickering in her eyes. Having lived with the Flynn family for years, she knew the helipad existed—but she had almost never set foot there.
What on earth were they doing here?
Then her gaze caught on a sleek helicopter parked at the center of the pad, its des glinting faintly in the dark.
Her breath hitched. Were they actually going to fly?
She remembered that Eric had a helicopter pilot’s license. She turned to him, uncertainty clouding her voice. “Are you really going to fly it yourself?”
“Yes.” Eric arched a brow and gave a confident nod.
“Now?”
“Yes.”

“But…”
“Let’s go!”
Were they seriously doing this now—flying off in the middle of the night?
Eric guided Hadley toward the helicopter, his hand firm around hers. In the darkness, his eyes gleamed brighter than the garden lights.
“You’ve never seen me fly a helicopter before, have you?”
“No.” Hadley shook her head slowly.
“Perfect,” he said with a hint of mischief. “Then watch closelyter.”
He reached into the rearpartment and pulled out two flight suits. Handing one to her, he said, “This should fit you. Put it on.”
Hadley blinked, surprised. She nced down skeptically, then slipped into the flight suit.
Indeed, it fit her perfectly, hugging her frame as if it had been made for her.
Had he prepared this especially for her? So this night flight wasn’t a sudden whim after all.
“Are you dressed?”
Eric was already suited up. He walked over to Hadley, his movements smooth and assured, then helped her put on the helmet, goggles, and the rest of the gear with practiced ease.
“All set.” He nodded in approval. He then guided her into the front seat and fastened the seatbelt snugly around her.
“Are we really going to fly?” Hadley asked again, the reality finally sinking in.
“Scared?”
Hadley hesitated for a moment before shaking her head. “Just a little nervous.”
After all, this was something she had never experienced before.
Eric smiled, his tone gentle. “Don’t worry. Your health results are perfectly normal. A little thrill like this won’t hurt you.”
He reached over and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. “And trust my skills,” he added with a confident glint in his eyes.
He released her hand and climbed into the cockpit.
Turning to nce at her, he asked, “Ready? We’re about to take off.”
“Okay.” Hadley gripped the armrest, taking a deep breath before letting it out slowly, trying to steady her racing heart.
Despite her nerves, excitement fluttered in Hadley’s chest like a trapped bird.
The sudden roar of the helicopter’s engine thundered through her ears, drowning out every other sound.
Hadley’s heart leaped, and she instinctively squeezed her eyes shut
