?Chapter 2985:
Brady reached out, gently holding her hands in his. “Based on what your mom said, it seems like she’s not against us anymore.”
He smiled brightly at her.
Questions tumbled through Colleen’s mind.
She steadied herself with a long breath, slowly pulling her hand from his.
“Colleen?” Brady’s smile vanished.
“You’re out of your mind!”
Colleen let out a coldugh. “You want to know why my mom gave up fighting? It’s because I’m sick! No one wants me, so she’s settling for you!”
“So what?” Brady didn’t hesitate. “That doesn’t matter! As long as we’re together, nothing else counts!”
O????????i??e ??o???? ????????????y ???? g??????o??еl??.??o??
Colleen sat there speechless, unable to respond.
How could someone be so foolishly stubborn?
“I can’t do it!” Colleen shouted, her voice low and rough. “Brady, I don’t love you anymore! Don’t you get it?”
Brady just stood there, disappointment flickering in his eyes.
Suddenly, he stepped forward, wrapping his arms around her.
“No!”
His embrace only tightened. “I won’t believe it! Your mother told me you didn’t want to be with Jorge. That was never your choice! You haven’t been happy at alltely!”
Colleen was held tightly by him.
They hugged tightly, their hearts pressed together.
Colleen bit back a sob. She couldn’t hold it in and the sound broke free. “Ugh…”
“Colleen.”
Brady reached up and gently cradled her face.
“Don’t push me away just because you’re sick… Let me stay by your side, look after you, and make you smile, alright? If you care about me, then let me stay. If I’m with you, will that make you happy?”
Colleen choked back the words, unable to form a single sound.
With a tremor in her voice, she whispered, “You really are such a fool, you know…”
“Yes, I’m a fool.”
Brady reached up and brushed the tears from her cheeks, his eyes rimmed red as he smiled. “Maybe it’s a blessing to be foolish sometimes.”
“Humph.” Her chest felt tight. Of course, only a fool would see being with someone like her as some kind of luck.
“Colleen, your mom said she’d help me…”
Brady hung his head, pressing his forehead to Colleen’s and whispered, “Please don’t shut me out. Let me stay by your side.”
Outside the door, Louise released her grip on Ronald’s arm and let out a quiet breath.
Ronald dropped his gaze and quietly asked, “You agreed, but what about the Jenkins family?”
Louise smiled bitterly, helplessly. Yes, the people of the Jenkins family might not agree. Just thinking about it made her feel bad. No one could have expected their daughter to end up in a mess like this.
In the end, she was just a selfish mother.
“We’re here for them.”
Louise let out a long sigh. “From now on, those two kids are our responsibility. As for everything else, we’ll just cross that bridge when we get there.”
At Flynn Mansion, Hadley’s phone began to ring.
Eric had sent a video message, with a few words attached.
“Check this out. Big news.”
