?Chapter 2935:
With that, the two of them went off to talk.
In the CEO’s office, Eric lounged on the sofa with an air of leisure, tilting his chin ever so slightly as his gaze settled on Ellis across from him.
“Mr. Scott.” Ellis was the first to break the silence. “I’ll get straight to the point.”
“Go ahead.”
“You blocked the Gomez family’s logistics chain because of Hadley, didn’t you?”
Pretty straightforward.
Eric gave a crooked smile and nodded. “That’s right.” With a shrug, he added, “Isn’t it obvious?”
He admitted it without a second thought!

“Mr. Scott.” Ellis’s brows furrowed as he asked, “I don’t understand. What good does this do for you?”
That was right. Cutting off the Gomez family’s supply line had undoubtedly harmed them. Even so, the damage was just as severe for Scott Group. Business always depended on mutual benefit, but with Eric’s actions, both sides ended up suffering heavy losses.
Ellis gave a bitterugh and said, “Eric, isn’t this like hurting yourself just to hurt others?”
“Yeah,” Eric replied, arching an eyebrow. “That’s right.”
“What?”
He couldn’t believe how unfazed Eric seemed.
Humph!
Eric let out a low chuckle, his eyes locked on Ellis. “But it doesn’t matter to me.” He paused for a moment, then asked, “And what about you?”
The question left Ellis speechless.
“Or maybe…” Eric’s eyes remained steady, and just a touch of pride colored his expression. “What about your own family?”
He made a sweeping gesture and added, “You must have suffered a lot. Don’t you care about the loss?”
Ellis didn’t need to answer.
Eric sneered as he said, “The fact that you’re sitting across from me today already proves your answer. You… you all do care.”
“No…” Ellis frowned, blurting out in a rush, “I don’t care at all.”
“Humph.”
Eric gave a mockingugh. “Oh, is that so?”
Eric shed a smile, nodding his head. “Fine. I’ll take your word for it. I’ll trust you on that.” He shrugged and added, “But really, what’s the point? Ellis…”
Calling him by name, Eric’s voice hardened. “Ellis, you’re the fourth son of the Gomez family. Everything you have right now rests on your father and your brothers!”
Every word he spoke was the in truth. And it still wasn’t over.
“To be blunt, you’re not the one in charge of the Gomez family. You don’t get to decide for them!”
Eric’s gaze hardened as he tilted his chin upward.
“And I…” A faint smile tugged at his lips. “You and I, we’re not the same. I’m the one who makes the decisions for the Scott family. Everyst thing under that name falls under mymand.”
As he said this, he straightened his spine and sat tall. He fixed Ellis with a steady stare, making sure every word hit home.
“Let’s not y it safe. I’m ready to throw profits aside—even put everything on the line for Hadley. Could you do the same?”
