Chapter 2934

    ?Chapter 2934:

In fact, the CEO’s secretary had already let them know to expect Ellis, saying he might show up at any time. Naturally, the staff had already discussed exactly how to handle it.

“I’m sorry, but Mr. Scott isn’t in the office right now… How about this?” she said, her tone calm and measured. “You must be here about a case, right? Our CEO is always open to working together. May I ask which case you’re here to discuss? If you let us know, we can give Mr. Scott a proper report, don’t you think?”

    What?

For a moment, Ellis waspletely at a loss. He did note here for any case at all.

From the way things were going, it was obvious Eric had already nned ahead—he had no intention of seeing him.

    “No need. Thank you.”

With a scowl, Ellis turned around and strode out of the Scott Group’s lobby.

    ??????r???? you ??????’?? ?????? ??оw?? о?? ??al?о??еl??.со??

    “Take care, Mr. Gomez.”

Once he was gone, the receptionist respectfully reported the matter to the CEO’s office without dy.

Inside the CEO’s office, Eric listened to the secretary’s report, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

    “Alright. I understand.”

He waved his hand, letting the secretary know she could leave.

“Mr. Scott.” After a pause, Xander added, “The Gomez family has sent people to look for you several times. They’re asking to see you. Will you meet them?”

“No, that won’t be necessary.” Eric shrugged. “Let’s talk about itter.”

The Gomez family must be getting restless by now. Even Ellis came to the Scott Group.

And that was only the beginning. Much more was still ahead.

With phone calls unanswered and no way to see Eric at the Scott Group, Ellis refused to give up. Back home, his family—including his older brother—were also racking their brains for a solution.

A single day’s pause in the logistics chain meant losses too heavy to measure.

With no better option left, Ellis stationed himself outside the Scott Group building.

Atst, one morning, he caught Eric in the parking lot. Eric’s car rolled into the Scott Group’s parking area, and he stepped out.

    “Eric.”

Ellis kept a few paces between them, his expression clouded. He looked so worn out, it was as if he hadn’t slept a wink for days. He let out a sharp sigh.

Eric furrowed his brow, finally realizing what was happening. Still, it wasn’t all that surprising. Ellis had worked as a detective for many years. If he couldn’t pin someone down after days of pursuit, he might as well hand in his badge.

    “Mr. Gomez.”

Eric gave a faint smile and said, “Morning. Quite the coincidence, isn’t it?”

    Coincidence?

A faint twitch yed at Ellis’s lips. It was hardly a coincidence.

“Mr. Scott,” Ellis said, letting out a slow breath, “is this a good time to talk?”

“Of course.” Eric arched a brow and gave a small nod. “Alright.”

Since Ellis hade all this way, it wouldn’t make sense to say it was inconvenient.
