Chapter 2933

    ?Chapter 2933:

The only way to know was to ask Eric.

Ellis reached for his phone and pulled up Eric’s number. The two of them had swapped contact information after Locke and Joy went missing, just to make it easier to share updates.

    He tapped the call button.

“The person you’re trying to reach is currently unavable.”

    “What?”

Ellis frowned, baffled, and dialed again. The result was the same.

After a few more tries, it finally dawned on him. Eric had blocked him.

Then he recalled what Allen had said over the phone earlier. After the incident, they had tried to meet Eric face-to-face, but no matter what they did, they couldn’t reach him.

Ellis shut his eyes and pressed his fingers against his forehead. Now his brother’s suspicions looked more and more likely—maybe they really were true.

Eric’s abrupt change in behavior was most likely due to Hadley.

    ??о??? ?????????????????? o?? ???????? o?? ????????????e????.с????

No, he had to see Eric!

Since calling Eric’s number was a dead end, Ellis picked up the phone and dialed the Scott Group’s secretary’s office.

“Hello, this is the secretary’s office at Scott Group.”

“Hello.” Pacing his office, Ellis said in a low, firm tone, “Please put me through to your CEO.”

    “May I ask who’s calling?”

    “Ellis Gomez.”

    “One moment, please.”

Inside the CEO’s office of Scott Group, the secretary stepped in and said, “Mr. Scott, there’s a person named Ellis Gomez on the line. He wishes to speak with you. Shall I put him through?”

    Ellis? He called?

    Humph.

Eric let out a faintugh, his lips curling. “No need. Just tell him I’m busy and won’t be taking the call.”

    “Understood.”

Without another word, the secretary passed the message on to Ellis.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Gomez. Mr. Scott is too busy at the moment and can’t take your call. If there’s anything you’d like to pass along, I’ll make sure he gets the message.”

Too busy? Can’t take his call?

Ellis furrowed his brow. He didn’t buy it for a second. Eric was dodging him on purpose.

    “Fine. Thanks anyway.”

He thanked the secretary and ended the call.

It was clear to Ellis—phone calls weren’t going to work. That meant he’d have to visit Scott Group himself.

That afternoon, Ellis went straight to Scott Group. At the front desk, he made his purpose clear. “I’m here to see your CEO, Eric.”

Not wanting to be turned away, he showed his identification. “My name is Ellis.”

“Mr. Gomez,” the receptionist replied with a polite smile, calm and unruffled.
