Chapter 2824

    ?Chapter 2824:

“I just received word—your daughter, Joyce, and Mr. Flynn’s son, Locke, have gone missing from school.”

Eric’s expression hardened, his eyes narrowing.

    “How do you know this?”

    Then he remembered Ellis’ profession.

    “Is this under your jurisdiction?”

    “Yes,” Ellis confirmed.

“I’m on my way to Flynn Mansion now. I’ll exin everything in detail when I arrive.”

“Alright.” Eric kept his voice even. For the children’s sake, he had no choice but to hear him out.

After ending the call, Eric went downstairs and instructed the housekeeper, “A police officer named Gomez will be arriving shortly. Let him in when he does.”

    “Yes, sir.”

As he spoke, the front door opened—Ernest had returned.

    “Ernest,” Eric greeted.

Ernest gave a slight nod, then nced upstairs.

    “How is Hadley?”

“Not well,” Eric admitted, brows furrowed.

“She won’t rest easy until Joy and Locke are found.”

Ernest said nothing, the weight of the situation showing in his silence.

After a pause, Eric spoke again, his voice heavy.

    “What about Grandma? She…”

    “I’ll handle it,” Ernest sighed.

“You stay here and look after Hadley.”

The disappearance of both children couldn’t be kept from their grandmother.

    ?????????? ???????? ??????????: ?????????ν?????????????

“Thank you, Ernest,” Eric said quietly.

“Once Hadley wakes up, we’ll go together to check on Grandma.”

“Mr. Flynn, Mr. Scott,” the housekeeper approached.

    “Officer Gomez has arrived.”

    Ernest raised a brow.

    “Ellis?”

“Yes.” Eric confirmed with a brief nod.

“He called earlier—said he needed to speak with us. Since you’re here, we can hear him out together.”

Soon, Ellis was ushered in by the housekeeper. He strode in with urgency and gave both men a polite nod.

“Mr. Flynn, Mr. Scott. I’m d you’re both here.”

    Eric gestured toward the seats.

“Sit down, please. Let’s hear what you have to say.”

“Here’s the thing…” Ellis began, his tone measured but grave.

“After the kidnapping of Locke and Joyce was reported, our analysis points to a high likelihood of human trafficking.”

He continued, “We suspect it’s tied to a traffickingwork. I’ve been in charge of investigating this case recently, so it now falls under my jurisdiction.”

“Trafficking?” The word struck a nerve. Ernest and Eric exchanged a quick, uneasy nce. It sounded painfully familiar.
