?Chapter 2825:
“Mr. Flynn, Mr. Scott,” Ellis said, nked by several subordinates, “we’ll need to record a full statement from each of you. Would that be convenient?”
“Of course.” Eric and Ernest agreed without hesitation.
Ellis paused briefly, then asked, “And what about Hadley?” His tone held no hidden meaning.
“Please don’t misunderstand, Mr. Scott. The three of you are immediate family—your ounts are all essential.”
Eric didn’t take offense. He gestured upstairs.
“Hadley couldn’t take it and fainted earlier. She’s resting upstairs and hasn’t regained consciousness.”
“I see…” A frown creased Ellis’ face.
Footsteps sounded on the staircase.
It was Hadley.
“Ernest? Eric?” she called softly as she descended, hearing the murmur of voices and sensing the weight in the room.
At the sound of her voice, both Eric and Ellis turned at once. There she stood—pale and fragile, her slender figure looking as though the slightest breeze might topple her.
“Hadley…” Both men instinctively reached out to steady her.
Her longshes fluttered, but she epted neither hand. Instead, her gaze locked onto Ellis.
“Why are you here?” His sudden appearance felt almost intrusive.
Sensing the chill in her tone, Ellis withdrew his hand awkwardly.
“I’m here on official business. Can you manage? If you’re well enough, we should talk together.”
Official business?
Hadley’s eyes sharpened.
“Is it about Joy and Locke?”
???????????????? ????????: g????????ν????????????
“Yes…”
“I’m fine!” Hadley cut in, nodding firmly.
“I can manage.”
“Alright. Come join us, then.”
“Sure.”
“Then I need you to recall everything in as much detail as possible,” Ellis instructed.
“Leave nothing out.”
Ernest inclined his head.
“I’ll start.”
When he finished, Eric recounted his part, and then Hadley added hers. Their testimonies aligned—yet none of it revealed anything new or useful.
Ellis fell silent for a long moment before asking, “Mr. Flynn, Mr. Scott… as far as I know, you both experienced trafficking in your childhoods?”
Eric nced at Ernest, then nodded.
“Yes, that’s true.”
“Why bring that up?” Ernest frowned, his tone low.
“Are you suggesting the same group that took us back then is behind this now?”
