?Chapter 2735:
A name trembled at the edge of her lips, almost spilling out more than once.
She forced her jaw shut, refusing to let it slip.
Uncertainty gued her—had her eyes deceived her?
Still, hesitation meant nothing now. Even if she was right, yelling would only scare them and drive them to run faster.
Struggling to catch her breath, she sprinted toward the roadside, eyes fixed on the fleeing figure.
The moment she reached it, she saw the figure slide into a waiting car.
“What do I do now? What do I do?” Hadley bit her finger in anxiety, urgency pressing down on her. At this point, calling for help would take too long.
She had no choice—she had to follow that car right away.
Her car wasn’t even with her—it was still stuck in the garage.
Desperation drove her to throw her arm out, trying to g down a taxi, yet the street offered her nothing. At this hour, none came.
Pulling out her phone crossed her mind, but a ride-hailing app would only waste the chance; by the time a driver arrived, the trail would be lost.
All of these frantic calctions surged through her head in the span of a heartbeat.
Just then, a vehicle eased to a stop at the curb.
The ss window slid down to reveal Ellis behind the wheel.
“Hadley, what are you—”
Before his question couldnd, Hadley lunged for the handle.
“Unlock it—now!”
“Alright.” Ellis wasted no time and unlocked the door.
Hadley jumped inside, mming it behind her.
“Drive!”
Her finger shot toward the street as she shouted, “That way—move!”
??????????? с???ρ???????? ??????????????????﹒?????
“Understood!” Ellis pressed the gas pedal.
“Which way should I go?”
“Keep straight! And faster!”
“Copy that!”
Ellis gripped the steering wheel tighter, pressing the elerator as his gaze flicked between the road and the rearview mirror, where Hadley sat in silence.
She stared out the window, her mind churning.
The car she had seen earlier was nowhere in sight.
Could it have vanished so quickly? Impossible. She was sure it had taken this very road. Then her eyes sharpened.
“There!” She leaned forward, pointing toward the road ahead.
“Do you see that car?”
She rattled off the license te in quick session.
“Yes.” Ellis’s eyes narrowed as he followed her line of sight.
“I see it.”
“That’s the one! Follow it!”
“Alright.” Heplied without a single question.
But Hadley frowned, her voice lowering.
