?Chapter 2736:
“Not too close. We can’t let them notice us.”
If they startled the target now, everything would be lost.
“Rx,” Ellis said with a sidelong nce.
“Have you forgotten what I do?”
She blinked, and then exhaled.
Right—he was a detective. Tracking was second nature to him.
“Okay,” she murmured, and said no more, her eyes locked on the taillights ahead.
The car kept going, pulling them farther from the bustling city into quieter streets, where dusk deepened and the surroundings turned remote.
It made sense. Anyone who wanted to hide would head somewhere less popted.
Finally, the vehicle turned into a wooded avenue, and a vast building emerged beyond the trees. The car disappeared through its gates.
Ellis slowed the car, turned the wheel, and parked by the roadside.
“Do we get out?” he asked.
It wasn’t clear whether the building was private property, and barging in recklessly would have been unwise.
“Yes,” she murmured with a firm nod, opening the car door and stepping out.
Ellis unfastened his seatbelt and followed close behind.
As they neared the entrance, their way was promptly blocked.
The ce wasn’t open to just anyone—it was the kind of elite establishment where even stepping through the door required a membership card.
“Sorry, you can’t enter if you’re not our members,” the security guard said politely, barring their path.
“If you’re meeting someone, you can call them toe out and fetch you, or inform us instead.”
Neither option worked for Hadley.
What now? Her brows drew together as she pressed a hand to her forehead, helplessness creeping in.

Ellis looked down at her, his gaze steady.
“May I ask who you’re following? Who just went inside?”
Hadley bit her lip before replying, “It’s Bianca…”
Her words faltered as her eyes snapped up to Ellis.
“Mr. Gomez, you can go in!”
A realization struck her—he was a police officer, a high-ranking one, even.
“As long as you present your credentials…” Hadley tilted her face up, her eyes glinting with urgency.
“Even a private club must cooperate with an investigation! Yes…” She kept nodding as the n formed in her mind.
“We need to secure this ce immediately!” she added. After so long, they finally had a lead on Bianca. If they lost her now, would there even be another chance? If so, when?
“Mr. Gomez!” Hadley’s voice trembled.
“I saw Bianca enter! Please, lock this ce down! Find her—quickly!”
Her mind was a whirlwind, tangled in desperate thoughts.
