Chapter 1374

    ?Chapter 1374:

When Ferris showed up to visit Eric, he didn’t bother softening the blow. “See? I told you not to spoil her. You’re still lying in a hospital bed, and she’s already off chasing the spotlight.”

“Ha.” Eric nced at him indifferently. “No wonder you’re retiring. You spend your day poking your nose into your daughter-inw’s business. You’d fit right in with the neighborhood gossip circle.”

Ferris turned red. For a second, it looked like he might fall over. Eventually, he calmed down and left in a huff.

Alone in the room again, Eric’s expression changed. Truth was, he wasn’t as calm as he seemed. He hadn’t seen Hadley in a week.

That night, the crew was shooting a night scene.

    A drunk scene.

At first, Hadley went through the motions without touching a drop. But after several takes, something about her performance felt off.

“Hadley, maybe you should have a drink,” Adonis suggested after some thought.

Knowing her connection to Eric, he kept his tone careful. “Something light, just enough to bring out that slightly tipsy feeling.”

“Alright, I’ll follow your advice.” Hadley nodded in agreement. She knew her performance hadn’t hit the mark. With only limited experience to draw from, she needed something to help her get there.

“Let’s do it, then.” Adonis didn’t waste time. He had someone bring over a few cans of beer.<fn2282> Fresh chapters posted on Find_Novel(.</fn2282>

After a couple of drinks, Hadley loosened up, and her movements flowed more naturally.

“Good. Very good…” Adonis beamed behind the monitor. “Keep going. Just like that!”

By the time they wrapped the scene, everything had clicked.

“Alright! That’s a wrap for tonight! Pack it up, everyone!”

    “Hadley, well done!”

“Thank you, Mr. Faulkner. Everyone, thank you.” Hadley smiled. Cheeks flushing, she offered her thanks to the team one by one.

The crew looked around at each other and chuckled.

“Is she still acting, or is she actually drunk?”

    “Looks like she’s really drunk.”

“I’m not drunk…” Hadley giggled and waved a hand.

Yeah. That was ssic. Drunk people always said they weren’t. “Hurry up!” Adonis called out, motioning to Chelsey. “Come help Hadley!”

“Oh!” Chelsey scrambled forward, but the female bodyguard, Tamara Palmer, moved faster.

With her long legs and sharp instincts, she reached Hadley first and steadied her with both hands. She looked her over, her brows furrowed slightly. “Miss Pearson, are you alright?”

“Hehe…” Hadley nodded, her smile loose and unbothered. “I’m fine. Just a bit dizzy…”

She wasn’t fine. She was clearly drunk.

Her tolerance had always been low, and it didn’t take much to knock her off bnce.

“Let’s get her inside first.” Tamara nced at Chelsey. “Help her remove her makeup.”
