Chapter 1373

    ?Chapter 1373:

“Yes.” The doctor nodded and continued, “But full recovery will still take time—”

“I see.” Ferris raised a hand, ncing sharply at Hadley. “Doctor, tell her everything she needs to know.” He then fixed her with a look that left no room for argument and added, “And you… You better remember all of it. Take proper care of my son.”

He didn’t say it loudly, but the words came out like an order that couldn’t be refused.

The doctor paused, caught off guard by the tone. Then, he forced a smile and nodded. “Alright… Miss Pearson, you—”

“Tell me!” Eric cut in before Hadley could respond, his tone sharp with irritation. He then shot Ferris a re. “You can go. I’ll take care of things myself.”

Ferris blinked, taken aback for a second.

Then it clicked. Eric was standing up for Hadley.

“Did I say something wrong?” Ferris chuckled and shook his head. “Isn’t it her job to take care of you? Sure, women should be cherished, but not too much. Otherwise, they’ll start walking all over you—”

“Enough!” Eric snapped. “Just leave already.”

Ferris was stunned into silence, and thenughed helplessly. “Alright, alright… I’m leaving.”

But before stepping out, he cast Hadley a meaningful nce.

As soon as the door clicked shut, Eric turned to her and worriedly advised, “Hadley, don’t mind him. He’s not exactly in his right mind.”

“Oh, I didn’t pay it any mind,” Hadley replied with a smile. She then turned toward the doctor. “Please. Tell us what we need to look out for from here on.”

“Alright. Here’s what you need to know…” The doctor went through the precautions in detail before taking his leave.

Once he was gone, Hadley stood quietly for a moment, and then turned to Eric. “Since your injury is on the mend… would it be alright if I went back to work?”

The film crew had already been on break for a week.

Sure, Eric had taken care of the expenses. But dragging things out any longer wasn’t practical. Even his money didn’t grow on trees. Every day the cameras stayed off meant another hit to the budget.

“You want to get back to work?” Eric thought for a moment and then nodded. He would’ve preferred to keep her close, but he wasn’t the kind to clip someone’s wings. “Alright. I’ll have Phillips get in touch with Adonis.”<fndeee> ???? ????s? ???????s ?? fin?novel</fndeee>

    “Okay.”

Later that night, a message lit up Hadley’s phone. The group chat had been updated. Filming was officially back on.

At the same time, Phillips arrived with Hadley’s newly assigned security team.

She was introduced to three bodyguards. One woman would stay by her side at all times, and two men were responsible for her transport and perimeter safety.

All three were tall, fit, and carried themselves with utmost professionalism.

The next morning, Hadley left Olisvale Bay and returned to the set.

With production having been on hold, the schedule was now jam-packed. For several days straight, she was out before sunrise and didn’t return untilte into the night. It felt like she had moved onto the set entirely.

Even so, Hadley couldn’t get Joy off her mind. No matter howte it got, she always made her way back to Olisvale Bay. But that meant she no longer had time to stop by the hospital to visit Eric.
