?Chapter 1238:
Reaching into her jeans, Hadley retrieved her phone and dialed swiftly.
“Hey… where are you? I’m dealing with a fever and am currently at the hospital getting IV treatment. Could youe over for a bit? Alright… see you soon.”
After disconnecting the call, Hadley nced at Eric.
“He’s on his way… you can head out now.”
Eric, faced with Hadley’s repeated suggestions to leave, found it hard to protest further.
“Okay, I’ll head out.”
“Bye…”
Leaving the infusion room behind, Eric made his way toward the parking lot to find his car.
During his walk, someone hurried past him.
“Hello? Hadley? Where exactly are you? Still in the infusion room?”
Completely absorbed in her phone conversation, Elissa was oblivious to Eric’s presence.
She moved quickly.
“Not at all. I was close by when you called… Yes, I understand! Heading there now!”
She ended the call and elerated her pace, disappearing into the distance.
Rooted to the spot, Eric was left pondering the sudden encounter.
He had overheard every word Elissa spoke.
What was happening here?
Had Hadley reached out to Elissa instead of Denver?
But why?
Under normal circumstances, wouldn’t she naturally call her boyfriend when feeling this unwell?
His suspicions about Hadley and Denver’s rtionship intensified. Clearly, something wasn’t right between them.

As he drove away from the parking lot, Eric’s mind was racing, prompting him to reach out to Marshall.
“Hey, it’s Eric. Is Denver there with you?”
“Yes, he’s here.”
“Can you guys send me your location?”
“Of course, head on over.”
Ending the call, Eric quickly made his way to the address Marshall had sent.
Upon arriving, he surveyed the crowded room, his eyes locking on Denver. Without hesitation, Eric made his way directly to him.
“Denver.”
“Eric…”
As Denver began to respond, Eric swiftly interrupted him. “Let’s step outside for a talk!”
With a stern look, Eric turned and led the way out.
After a brief hesitation, Denver stood up and followed.
The corridor was nearly empty as they stepped outside.
Eric, with his hands tucked into his pockets, tilted his head up and cut to the chase. “Have you and Hadley been having problems?”
