?Chapter 1102:
He wanted to kiss her.
As he inched nearer, their lips were barely apart.
He was about to close the gap—
Suddenly, Hadley’s eyes snapped open, locking onto his handsome face, so close, her gaze sharp and clear.
“What are you doing?”
Eric faltered, his eyes darting. “Just… unbuckling your seatbelt.” He pressed the release, and it clicked free.
“Thanks.” Hadley frowned, turned, and opened the door.
“Hadley!” Eric caught her hand. “That new guy you’re with? He’s not good enough for you. Dump him.”
“I’ll deal with my own life.” Hadley stayed neutral. “Thanks for today.” She stepped out just as a white car rolled up and stopped.
Hadley recognized it as Brady’s car.
“Brady.”
As Brady got out, Eric followed suit and got out of his own car.
“Had—”
Brady barely got the name out when Eric stepped forward and positioned himself in front of Hadley. His eyes locked on Brady, dark and full of warning.
“What are you doing here?” he snapped.
“Huh?” Brady nced past him, then let out a shortugh. “And what if I ask you the same thing? Does my purpose even concern you?”
“I’m telling you, don’te here again.” Eric’s anger simmered when he saw Brady’s smug expression. “Hadley suffered a serious head injury because of you. Haven’t you done enough damage?”
Brady frowned at the usation. “That’s between me and her. I came here to see her.”
Astrid had called earlier, causing quite amotion.
It was only then that Brady found out what had happened earlier today. Without bothering to respond to Astrid, he headed straight to Hadley’s ce.

“What exactly do you need to see?” Eric stood firm, keeping Hadley behind him. “As long as I’m here, you’re not getting near her!”
“Humph.” Brady stopped and raised an eyebrow. “What gives you the right to stop me? You’re nothing more than a failed ex-husband. She’s not yours anymore!”
The wordsnded hard. Eric’s whole body stiffened, and his fists curled tight at his sides.
“Eric!” Hadley sensed trouble and quickly grabbed his arm. “Don’t do anything you’ll regret!”
Eric froze, surprise flickering in his eyes. “What do you think I’m going to do?”
“Don’t hit him!” Hadley blurted out. The words flew out of her mouth before she could stop them.
She had seen firsthand what he was capable of when he lost control.
“Did I look like I was about to hit him?” Eric’s heart ached, and a cold smile tugged at his lips. “Even if I wanted to, would you step in for him?”
“I would.” Hadley met his gaze, her chin lifted in defiance.
“Hadley?” Eric stared at her, stunned. “After what he did to you—”
