?Chapter 1103:
“That’s between him and me!” Hadley stated, scared he might lose control. “I’ll handle it myself!”
She shot Brady a look and ordered, “Go inside now.”
“Fine. I’ll wait for you upstairs.” Brady smirked and tossed Eric a mocking nce before heading into the building.
Hadley didn’t let go of Eric’s arm the entire time. She kept a firm grip and watched him closely.
“Ha-ha-ha!” Eric let out a humorlessugh and slowly shook his head. “Let go. I’m not going to touch him.”
She was protective over Brady. What good would it do to make a scene?
Hadley nced over her shoulder to make sure Brady had stepped into the elevator. Only then did she slowly release her grip.
“I’m going in, too. You should leave.”
Without waiting for Eric’s response, she turned away and took a few steps forward.
“Hadley!” Eric called out to stop her. “You don’t like me. I know that. I can’t force you—and I won’t, but can you at least stop making me worry? I just want to know that you’re okay. Choose someone decent, will you? I’m begging you, Hadley. Please.”
Upon hearing his pleas, Hadley’s spine went rigid. Hershes trembled. Her fingers curled into fists without her noticing.
Atst, she opened her mouth and said, “Stop worrying about me. I don’t need it… I’m begging you to ignore me the same way you did all those years I was in the.”
Suddenly, Hadley broke into a run and disappeared inside the building without looking back.
“Hadley!” Eric’s voice rang out, low but sharp, the kind that barely held back a scream.
Anger surged through him, and he was on the verge of exploding.
He raised his hand and mmed it hard against the car. The impact split his knuckles open, making his blood ooze out. But even that wasn’t enough.
He looked up at the building. The two had gone up together. Hadley had actually let Brady into her apartment.

Had things moved that fast between them? How long would he stay?
Would he spend the night?
Hadley’s apartment was tiny. Where would he even sleep? Would he sleep with Hadley?
The thought of Hadley in another man’s arms was enough to make him lose control. It was unbearable. It was driving him mad.
What should he do? Should he go up there now? But would Hadley even open the door?
Besides, he was really mad. He was afraid he might actually lose it. Hadley and Joy were both inside. What if he frightened them?
He yanked open the car door and grabbed a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from the glovepartment. One after another, he lit them and smoked in silence.
He told himself that he would wait at most one hour. If Brady didn’te down by then, he’d go up.
Thankfully, he didn’t have to wait that long.
Brady soon stepped out of the building.
