Chapter 1473

    ?Chapter 1473:

The threedies were dumbfounded. What did he just say?

“Oh, right,” Jessica added, brushing her hair back, warmth dancing in her eyes. “Melvin’s been my crush for years. Took me forever, but I finally won him over.”

They were stunned. Definitely not the answer they were hoping for.

The whole group sat there, awkwardly sipping their drinks, unable to find the words.

Half an hourter, the conversation was still shallow and scattered. Jessica stuck to fruit juice, swirling it absentmindedly.

Midway through, she got up to use the restroom. Behind her, the sound of heels followed.

Jessica nced over her shoulder, unimpressed. “What is this, N? You tagging along now?”

“What, you own the restroom?” N shot back, folding her arms in challenge.

Jessica didn’t answer. With a sigh, she pushed open a stall door.

N sidestepped in front of her, arms crossed and lips curling. “Melvin’s not some random guy, is he?”

“What’s it to you?” Jessica shoved past her and shut the stall door firmly.

N leaned her weight against the divider, her voice floating through the gap. “Don’t y dumb. You’re a Prescott. No way you’d crush on someone for years unless he’s a big deal.”

    Jessica kept quiet.

Still, having a full conversation through a restroom stall was ufortable.

“Spill,” N pressed. “No way a guy like that is ordinary.”

“Curious? Go ask him yourself,” Jessica snapped, mentally noting never to share a restroom break with this woman again. “With your looks, I’m sure he’ll love the attention and tell you everything.”

“Don’t get cute,” N said, dead serious. “I’m telling you right now. I’m going to take him.”

“Oh,” Jessica replied, her tone t as a cutting board. If Melvin was that easy to steal, she wouldn’t have bothered in the first ce.

“You don’t believe me?” N blinked, clearly not expecting that reaction.

“Oh, I believe you,” Jessica said smoothly, turning on the tap. “You could probably have three boyfriends by tomorrow night.”

But none of them would be Melvin.

“Get it,” N said, flipping her hair with practiced ir. “You think your pretty face is enough to keep him.”

Jessica calmly dried her hands with a paper towel, refusing to give her the satisfaction of a response.<fndf39> ???s ??????? ?s ?????? ?? find{n}ovel</fndf39>

“There’s a lot you don’t understand,” N continued, lips curved like she was letting Jessica in on a secret. “Pretty won’t hold a man. Skill will.”

“Of course. You’ve mastered it,” Jessica said in mock seriousness. “Why don’t you and your boyfriend start a ss on it? I’ll cover tuition.”

N’s confident smile faltered for half a second, but she recovered, eyes narrowing as she gave Jessica a slow once-over. “Pretty face. Sharp mouth. You’ll be crying soon enough when I take him.”
