Chapter 1460

    ?Chapter 1460:

Melvin was about to ask if they weren’t already together. But then it hit him—he had never actually made a move. He hadn’t even asked her out. He should at least do that first.

    “Deal,” he said.

That night, under Jessica’s firm insistence, Melviny beside her in bed. Having someone else in bed for the first time left him incredibly tense. The second she reached out and rested a hand on him, his whole body stiffened. She noticed and whispered, “Are you scared of me or something? I’m not going to bite.”<fn4909> Th?s chapter is updated by find?novel</fn4909>

“I’m not,” Melvin murmured, his voice low.

“Rx,” she said softly, gently cupping his face. “I’ll wait until you’re ready.”

He turned his head slightly and asked, “Isn’t that something guys usually say?”

“You’re the shy one here.” Jessica snuggled up against him, warmth spreading between them. “If we’re both this bashful, we’ll end up living the rest of our livespletely sexless.”

Melvin grew more flustered by the second. He clearly wasn’t used to this kind of topic.

“Don’t worry, I’ll do my research,” Jessica added sleepily, her voice light butforting. “Just to make sure your first time doesn’t turn into a disaster.”

Melvin’s ears and cheeks burned crimson. Thank God the room was dark—he didn’t think he could handle her seeing how embarrassed he looked. He swallowed hard. “You can actually look something like that up?”

“If you dig around, you’ll realize the world’s got manuals for pretty much everything,” Jessica mumbled softly.

Melvin’s heart was pounding. Having a girl take the lead like this? It threw himpletely off bnce.

“Sleep,” he said, holding her a little closer, still awkward with the unfamiliar intimacy. “Goodnight.”

    “Goodnight.”

That night, Jessica slept soundly. Melvin, on the other hand, kept waking up—checking whether her nket was still on, wondering if he was taking up too much space, his mind restless beside her peaceful slumber.

Melvin woke up just past six in the morning and couldn’t fall back asleep, so he got up and made breakfast for Jessica.

Jessica was never an early riser unless work forced her out of bed. But today was different. She rolled over to hug Melvin, only to find the space beside her empty. Her brows furrowed in confusion.

    “Melvin?” she called softly.

Melvin, busy in the kitchen behind two closed doors, didn’t hear a thing.

Jessica ran a hand through her messy hair, blinking as she stumbled out of bed. She opened the door and caught the faint sounds of pans clinking.

Melvin came out at once. “What’s wrong?”

“What are you doing? Smells incredible,” Jessica said, following the trail of delicious scents to the kitchen.

    “Making breakfast.”

As she stepped inside, he quickly grabbed something from the counter and hid it behind his back. He tried to act casual, but his ears were pink.
