?Chapter 1373:
“You wouldn’t dare.”
“Try me.”
Jack clenched his fists, too angry to speak.
Jessica threw him a final look, brushed past him with her bag, and strode out of the restaurant.
“Should we stop her, man?”
“That woman’s too full of herself.”
“Rx. Your dad loves you. You’ll be running thepany soon enough.”
“Exactly!”
“Shut up!” Jack snapped, barely holding himself together.
Everyone went quiet, not daring to say another word.
“Have someone keep an eye on her,” Jack muttered, seething. He wouldn’t touch her directly—but he could certainly make her life miserable. “Let me know the moment you find out where she’s living.”
“Got it,” they replied.
Jessica’s mood for shopping hadpletely evaporated.
She knew Jack too well. He didn’t have much in the way of ability, but his temper was vicious. Still, if she hadn’t pushed back, he would have gone even further—maybe even caused a full-blown scene in the restaurant.
She rubbed her temples, trying to steady herself.
After a quiet lunch with her friend, they each went their separate ways. She headed toward the parking lot, about to drive home, when she was blocked at the exit.<fnc3f7> Get full chapters from find~novel</fnc3f7>
A group of men in ck had surrounded her car, each one armed with a club, towering and threatening.
Instantly, Jessica’s palms broke out in a sweat.
Someone tapped on her car window. She looked up and saw one of Jack’s goons ring at her. He looked like he’d crawled straight out of a bad crime flick.

“Miss Prescott, care to step out for a quick chat?”
Jessica’s throat went dry. She quickly started the engine.
Step out? What did they think she was, stupid?
Bang! A club mmed against the window.
She jumped, heart pounding.
“Get out of the car!” the man shouted, his weapon pointing directly at the now-cracked ss.
Jessica’s fingers brushed her phone—she needed to call Melvin.
But before she could, the man struck again.
The ss shattered in a spray of shards.
Jessica screamed on instinct.
“Out!” the man barked, his club raised again.
Jessica forced herself to breathe, steadying her nerves.
“Did Jack send you?”
