?Chapter 1324:
“Just let them know ahead of time,” Freya said coolly, unfazed by the risk.
If she ended up getting penalized, so be it. At worst, it would mean another round of punishing tasks that would leave her utterly wiped out.
The two of them exchanged a quick look but didn’t say anything more.
On Saturday night, after the day’s training had ended, Freya informed Ellis of her n and received the key from him. The whole process went off without a hitch.
As for thework security department, when they heard that Ellis had requested a top-of-the-lineputer, they weren’t the least bit rmed. They figured thepetition wouldn’t begin for a while, at least not until after they handed him theputer.
At half past midnight on Sunday, when the base had gone quiet and everyone was tucked in, Freya took the key and slipped into Ellis’s office. As she gently pushed open the door, she was startled to find someone already sitting inside.
“Captain?” she asked, her voice low and surprised.
Ellis had already gotten everything ready for her, theputer set up and waiting. He gave a small gesture, signaling her toe in. “Most people are out cold at this hour. There are some people on duty, but it won’t be an issue.”
“Is this going to be a real attack?” Freya asked, still slightly unsure.
Ellis nodded. “Of course. First one to break into the opposing system and sh a KO on their screen wins.”
Hearing that, Freya didn’t waste a second. She settledfortably into his chair.
Before she got started, Ellis handed her a ss of ice water.
She epted it with a quiet “Thanks,” then got to work.
The surprise assault was fast and clean. The security team barely had time to blink before it was all over.
Freya’s attacks always came in silent waves at first, and by the time anyone realized what was happening, it was toote.<fn88c0> Follow current nov?ls on f?ndnovel</fn88c0>
In just over thirty minutes, she was finished.
The security department’s monitors all lit up with bold letters spelling out “KO.”

“Done,” Freya said, pulling her hands back from the keyboard.
Ellis’s eyes gleamed with amusement, a faint smile ying at his lips. Before he could say a word, his phone buzzed.
He nced down. It was the head of the security department.
“What’s going on?” he answered, his tone rxed andced with mischief.
“You tell me,” came the frustrated voice on the other end, practically fuming as he stared at the screens in defeat. “Weren’t you supposed to wait for that newputer? Why the sudden ambush?”
“I said I needed the bestputer. But I never said it was for thepetition,” Ellis replied smoothly, his deep voice carrying an easy charm. “If I’m not mistaken, I did mention an unannounced attack could happen any time this month.”
The security leader on the other end was silent for a beat, then muttered, “You can’t just pull something like this.”
They had stayed vignt, prepping their elite unit for a full-on sh in theing days. They had let their top members rest, thinking there was still time before the real battle.
