?Chapter 1262:
“Alright,” n nodded. “But promise me one thing.” Jesse looked at him, a little puzzled.
“The bodyguards go with you,” n said simply.
“Okay,” Jesse readily agreed.
With bodyguards around them, n and their parents would be at ease.
After that, Jesse went to wash up and headed to bed.
n checked the time—it wasn’t even 9 p.m.—so he pulled out his phone and messaged Freya.
He told her, more or less, that her kids were something else. One was mature beyond his years. And the other? Already knew how to chase after a boy she liked.
Across the world, Freya had just finished lunch with Ellis when the message popped up. Before she could reply, Ellis caught a glimpse of her screen.
“Do you think Nina gets her personality from you?” Freya asked, a slight frown etched across her face.
Ellis raised an eyebrow, his deep voice steady and smooth. “You sure she gets that from me?”
Freya blinked, confused. If not from him… then from her? But that didn’t make sense. She wasn’t like that as a kid—or was she?
“Who was it,” Ellis said casually, voiceced with amusement, “that clung to my hand the first time we met at two years old, and kept talking to me like we’d known each other forever?”
Freya didn’t respond. Because, yeah. That had been her.
Trying to save face, she muttered, “Nina’s four now.”
“Close enough,” Ellis said calmly. “And who has a deep appreciation for good-looking people? Definitely you.”
Freya went quiet. She couldn’t argue that part. She’d always had a soft spot for pretty things and beautiful people. Her standards skyrocketed the second someone was good-looking.
“But it isn’t the worst,” she said defensively. “Nice-looking things are just easier on the eyes.”

Ellis gave a slight smile, his eyes warm. He didn’t argue.
They dropped the subject after that, deciding to take a short break before heading out again.
Meanwhile, n had just finished messaging Freya and put his phone down. Even though he’d said he wouldn’t tag along with the kids tomorrow, there was no way he was letting them go unsupervised. At the very least, he’d follow them discreetly.
The next day, after wrapping up their sses and lunch, Jesse and Nina went to meet Jerome.
They had arranged to meet in a nearby cafe.
When Kevin arrived, he spotted Jesse reading a magazine calmly at the table, while Nina chatted happily with Jerome.
For a second, Kevin looked around, wondering if n had shown up too. But he didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.
“Your dad’s here,” Nina leaned in to whisper to Jerome when she spotted him. Jerome’s smile disappeared instantly. His whole face turned cold the moment Kevin walked through the door.<fnff32> N?w ?ovel chapt?rs are published on find?novel</fnff32>
