Chapter 1185

    ?Chapter 1185:

    “Yeah,” Lawrence said. “I do.”

    “All right, then.”

Lawrence hesitated. His eyebrows pulled together in a frown. He had no idea what Kristian was nning next.

“In a few days,” Kristian said, his voice calm but cutting, “I’ll be introducing Jacob to some younger guys.” He knew exactly how to hit a nerve. “He’s been single long enough. Don’t you think it’s time he met someone new?”

“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Lawrence exploded. “You wouldn’t dare.”

Kristian looked him straight in the eye. “Try me. See what happens!” Kristian said it inly.

He didn’t want his parents to worry, and he didn’t want anyone trying to fix how he felt. It wasn’t that he couldn’t move on—it was that he needed time to ept what had happened.

“I brought up the idea of erasing memories to your parents, but they turned it down right away,” Lawrence admitted carefully, knowing better than to take risks with Kristian.

Kristian paused. He remembered what his father had said earlier and frowned. How could Isaac have acted so well? He had almost believed his old man.

“Just so you know, if you do anything to Jacob behind my back, I’ll wipe your memory no matter what,” Lawrence warned, clearly shaken. “You know exactly what I’m capable of. Your folks won’t be able to stop me.”

“I don’t care about your business,” Kristian replied coolly. “Come by in a few days to sign your release papers. I don’t want to see you again.”

Lawrence fired back, “dly. I’d say the same to you.”

In the past, he would’ve let go of such a stubborn patient already. Whatever happened now wasn’t his problem.

“Thene and sign it,” Kristian said before ending the call.

In the days that followed, Kristian did his best to adjust, but even then, he barely ate and didn’t sleep well. Before he knew it, two months had passed.

Kristian’s condition hadn’t changed much. He was now managing to get about five hours of sleep each night, but his overall health remained fragile.

As for Freya, two months after the proposal, she and Ellis were still glowing with happiness.

One afternoon, Freya came home to spend time with Hugh and Ethel. After dinner, Hugh suddenly asked, “So, when are you nning to get married?”

    “Next year,” Freya answered calmly.

“Have you two talked about how you want the wedding to go?” Hugh, clearly more invested than he let on, leaned forward with a furrowed brow. “Are you nning to announce who you are first, or just go straight into dropping the wedding news?”

Freya paused, catching on. “No need.” Hugh’s brows drew together.

Ethel looked at her in disbelief. They both were puzzled. They didn’t quite get what Freya meant by that.

“We’re thinking of having a simple ceremony on thewn right in front of the base,” Freya said, already having talked it over with Ellis. “Just the closest family and friends. The ones who really matter.”
