?Chapter 1184:
“The deadline is Freya’s wedding day,” Isaac said firmly. “If your life’s still in chaos by then, I’ll have Lawrence wipe out every memory you have of Freya. You’ll get a fresh start.”
Kristian didn’t say a word.
Isaac continued, “I’ll even set you up with a few dates. Maybe even choose a bride for you.”
“That wouldn’t be fair to any woman,” Kristian said quietly.
“We’ll tell her the full story ahead of time.”
Kristian said nothing else.
“Of course,” Isaac added, his voice sharper now, “if you end up liking someone new, just let us know.” He jabbed a little deeper. “But knowing you, you’ll probably say the past is over and that it’s better to focus on what’s in front of you.”
“Aren’t you worried I’ll be upset?” Kristian asked. It sounded like something his father would do without a second thought.
“And if you are?” Isaac replied, not backing down. “What’s the worst that could happen? You cut us off? It’s not like we only have you.”
Kristian fell quiet again.
“Don’t listen to him,” Melinda said softly, her heart not in agreement. “As long as you don’t want that, we won’t touch your memories.”
Kristian made a sound to show he understood.
In the end, he agreed to eat properly again. He also said they could visit a few times each week.
By the time the conversation ended, the sky was already turning golden. After walking them out, Kristian called Lawrence right away.
“Did you throw me under the bus?”
“What?”
“My parents came to see me.”

“Isn’t it normal for your parents to drop by?” Lawrence’s chest tightened as his heart pounded out of rhythm. Panic was kicking in.
“I don’t care what they told you,” Kristian said sharply. “If you even think about messing with my memory without my say-so, I’ll destroy yourb.”
He’d already gotten Isaac and Melinda on his side, but Lawrence was always the unpredictable one.
“Do it,” Lawrence snapped. “Tear it down. Doesn’t bother me.” Ab was just a building.
He could build another. What really mattered—the codes, the ns, the experiments—were all safe in his head and backed up on protected servers. As for the gear? That could be bought again. No big deal.
“So you were the one who told them,” Kristian said, the wordsnding like a blow.
Lawrence faltered, caught off guard. He’d let his guard slip without even noticing. “So what if I did?” he said, quieter now. “I couldn’t sit back and watch you fall apart. I’m not letting your meltdown ruin my name along with it.”
“You really want to start a war with me?” Kristian asked.
