?Chapter 1186:
As for everything else, she hadn’t bothered making ns.
Hugh looked stunned, like the thought had never even crossed his mind. “Aren’t you going for a big wedding?”
He had even assumed that once she locked in a date, he’d go ahead and book a top-tier manor to throw the most extravagant wedding imaginable.
“No ns for that,” Freya replied with a shake of her head.
Hugh fell silent.
Ethel didn’t say a word either. Neither of them had seen thating.
Ethel’s brows knitted, and she said quietly, “If you don’t have a proper wedding, you might regret it when you look back one day.”
In her mind, she’d envisioned a romantic ceremony in a beautiful venue, a ce that radiated love and charm. But now, she was not sure.
“I won’t,” Freya said, her focus more on the proposal than the wedding. She preferred something simpler for her wedding.
“Anyway, you’re getting married next year, so there’s still time to think it over,” Hugh offered, clearly worried she’d regret it down the line—just like so many girls who quietly dreamed of a fairytale wedding. “If you ever change your mind, just tell me. If you so much as mention it, no matter howst-minute, I’d make it perfect. The invitations would go out immediately.”
“It’s already been decided. If Ellis hadn’t insisted on having a wedding at all, I wouldn’t have even invited people,” Freya admitted without hesitation. Back then, she hadn’t let Hugh announce her existence to the public. And now? She felt the same. For the rest of her life, she just wanted to live freely.
Ethel looked at her, shocked. “Isn’t that kind of out of touch?”
“It’s not about being out of touch. Riley and Greta aren’t fans of big weddings either,” Freya shrugged. “Maybe we really are getting old.” To her, all the grandeur didn’t hold much meaning.
Some people saw weddings as a status symbol. Others wanted towork or prove how deeply their partner loved them. And some simply liked the idea of a wedding and wanted to live out their dream. But she wasn’t one of those people. As long as she and Ellis were together, that was enough.
“Are you really sure about this?” Ethel still looked worried, not wanting her sister to have regrets.

“I’m sure.”
“You really won’t feel any regret at all without a grand wedding?”
“For people who want a grand wedding, yeah, it’d be something to regret. But I’m not one of them,” Freya said firmly. “If someone gives me love and respect, then all I want is to be with him.”
Hearing that, both Hugh and Ethel’s eyes softened. In that moment, they finally saw it—Freya loved Ellis deeply. To her, Ellis was everything.
“As long as you’re happy, I’ll back every decision you make!” Ethel wrapped Freya in a warm hug. “You’ll always be my beloved sister.”
Freya ran her fingers through Ethel’s hair, her gaze full of tenderness.
And finally, Hugh—who had been holding onto his nerves this entire time—breathed out. For once, he truly felt at peace. This time, he felt he could entrust Freya to Ellis without worry.
