?Chapter 1179:
“You’re only piling more weight on my mind by doing this,” Kristian’s voice was even and firm. “You want me to force myself into therapy? You know what that leads to.”
Lawrence was nearly pushed to the brink. How could someone still sound thisposed?
“Psychological treatment works best when someone wants it for themselves,” Kristian added with quiet conviction. “Forcing it only backfires.”
“So you’re just going to give yourself up?” Lawrence snapped.
“Giving myself up means fading into a shadow of who I once was,” Kristian answered with logic, calm as ever. “I still work hard. I care for my family. I take everything seriously—how exactly am I giving myself up?”
“You don’t eat properly and sleep properly.”
“Can you honestly say your meals and sleep are perfect every single day?”
“Now you’re just twisting the facts!”
“You’re the one being unreasonable.”
Lawrence was left speechless and so damn frustrated. Yet, he was still no match for Kristian in an argument.
Kristian had no desire to keep going. He turned to Gerard. “Cancel the contract with Dr. Hayes. Don’t let hime again.”
“Got it,” Gerard replied without hesitation.
“Once it’s terminated, you won’t be able to bring me back on a whim,” Lawrence warned. “Even if you throw billions at me, I might not return.”
Kristian responded coldly, “Terminate it.”
Gerard immediately left to prepare the paperwork.
Lawrence thought this man was impossible—stubborn as a rock.
When Gerard handed over the contract, Lawrence didn’t sign right away. Instead, he pushed it back. “I’ll give you a month to reconsider. If you still want to cancel after that, I’ll sign.”
“No need. Sign it now,” Kristian said with finality. He had no intention of dragging things out.
Lawrence stood up and left without a backward nce, not sparing him even a second look.

Gerard lingered, uncertain.
“Keep the contract. Hand it to him next time he shows up.”
“Alright.”
Lawrence had already vanished.
Gerard looked at the man slumped in quiet fatigue and hesitated before saying, “You really should listen to Dr. Hayes. If this keeps up, that handsome face of yours might notst.”
Kristian didn’t respond. As if he were the kind of man who cared about his looks.
“What Ms. Briggs liked most about you was that face,” Gerard added.
Kristian stilled. Freya had said many things to him over the years—but that face of his had been her favorite.
