?Chapter 1178:
Noticing how early Kristian had gotten up, Lawrence furrowed his brows. “That’s strange. You should’ve gotten at least five hours of sleep. Why’d you wake up after only two?”
“Will it kill me?” Kristian asked, his tone t.
“No,” Lawrence replied calmly. “It’s not that serious.”
“Then don’t worry about it.” Kristian brushed it off, unbothered by his own condition. “You go back to Alerith and take care of your business. I can manage just fine.”
Lawrence spoke up out of the blue.
Kristian turned his head toward him, his gaze as impassive as ever, his face unreadable.
Lawrence pressed his lips together, paused for a beat, then said, “You should see a therapist. If you’re willing, I can handle your sessions myself—free of charge.”
“Not necessary.”
“You, of all people, should know whether it’s necessary or not.”
Gerard chimed in, “Please give it a shot.” Since Kristian hade back from Alerith, he had sensed something was seriously off.
“Hypnosis barely works on you anymore,” Lawrence said bluntly. “Psychological wounds need psychological healing. Nothing else will improve until your mind does.”
“I’m fine.” Kristian knew his condition better than anyone. “There’s no need.” To Lawrence, he was just in obstinate.
“I know you carry guilt, regret, and this crushing sense of responsibility for what happened.” His tone sharpened with honesty. “But Freya’s moved on. You’ve already once risked your life trying to make it right. You don’t need to keep punishing yourself. As for what came after… that’s on me. You don’t have to shoulder that, too.”
He hadn’t expected Kristian to end up like this. If he had, he never would have involved Freya in his experiment.
Kristian’s expression didn’t shift—like emotions no longer reached him. “What I need isn’t therapy. It’s time.” He didn’t think of himself as sick. Just stuck in thoughts he hadn’t untangled yet. Maybe one day he’d sort through them. Or maybe they’d linger forever.

“You trying to push me into telling Freya how bad things are with you?” Lawrence’s voice turned sharp with threat again. He thought it’d work likest time—but this time, it didn’t.
Kristian’s tone was low, his striking features calm. “Ellis already proposed to her sessfully. If you’re not worried about getting punched, go ahead and try.”
Lawrence said nothing.
Gerard looked torn. He let out a silent sigh, pletely at a loss.
“Then how about your family?” Lawrence switched gears quickly, this time serious. “Aren’t you scared your parents will find out? If you won’t cooperate, I’ll show them your medical records.”
“Childish,” Kristian said,pletely unfazed.
“The choice is yours,” Lawrence said tly. He hated ying the viin but couldn’t just stand back and watch Kristian unravel. “Whatever happens is on you.”
