Chapter 1104

    ?Chapter 1104:

“Are you afraid he might cheat?” Melvin asked, his tone serious.

“No,” Freya said without hesitation. Her voice was steady. “I don’t think he would.”

Ellis wasn’t built that way. The kind of man he was—cheating just wasn’t in his nature.

Melvin didn’t quite know how to feel. On one hand, he was d she could trust again after everything she’d been through.

On the other hand, he worried that trust mighte back to bite her.

His thoughts were a bit of a mess.

Freya noticed the look on his face. “Don’t worry,” she said with a small smile. “If Ellis ever did screw up, I wouldn’t even need to do anything. The people around me would take him down before I got the chance.”

Ellis had always been Freya and her friends’ guiding star, the one they all looked to for direction. They trusted him implicitly, yet if he ever slipped up, none of them would think twice about holding him ountable.

Melvin merely gave a faint hum in response, barely more than a breath.

Once they arrived at the airport, Freya and Melvin boarded the ne side by side. After touching down, they checked into the same hotel.

Without dy, Freya snapped a photo, sent it off to Ellis, and let him know she and Melvin had arrived safely at the hotel to get some rest.

Then she asked what he was up to.

At that very moment, Ellis was at the airport.

He was just about to board his flight when Freya’s message shed across his screen. He paused for a second and replied, “At the airport, heading out for a business trip.”

    C????ck ?uthor’s ?o???? h??r??: g???????ν?????????????

Freya asked, “What’s the trip for?”

He responded, “Company matters. But don’t worry, I’ll definitely be back in Alerith before you are.”

Freya simply responded with a short, “Okay.”

With farewells exchanged, their chat came to a quiet end.

Worn out from the long flight, Freya copsed onto the bed and drifted off to sleep not long after.

The following morning, she woke and got right to work with her own affairs.

Meanwhile, Melvin had gone off to negotiate a partnership deal. Each of them busied themselves, agreeing to call once they were done and ready to return to Alerith together.

Later that day, Freya visited a custom ring designer. The rings she ordered were nearly finished, with only the final flourishes remaining, so she made no further requests.

    They were breathtaking.

Since they would be ready for pickup in ten days, Freya returned to the hotel, brimming with anticipation.

She had nned to use the ten days to explore potential honeymoon spots nearby, but those ns were thrown off course by an unexpected call from n.

That evening, just after eight, Freya was having dinner alone when her phone buzzed. n’s voice carried a strange, secretive tone.

“Mina, I need to ask you something.”

    “What is it?”

“Do you know what Ellis has been up totely?”

    “Why do you ask?”

“I need to talk to him face-to-face.”

“He’s probably busy right now,” Freya answered casually between bites, not thinking much of it. “He left for a business tripst night. I’ll let you know once he’s back in Alerith.”

    n said nothing.
