?Chapter 1105:
Freya waited a few beats, but there was only silence.
She then pushed again, “What’s going on?”
“Do you know the real reason he’s on this trip?”
Standing on the balcony of a bustling restaurant, n looked inside at a man and woman deep in conversation, ughing together. His brows drew together in a tight frown.
How was he supposed to tell Freya that Ellis had been sitting there, holding a ring and chatting intimately with another woman? Was this what Ellis called a business trip?
“Business,” Freya replied, though she picked up on the subtle tension in n’s voice. “Are you in a rush? If it’s urgent, I can call him for you.”
“Go ahead. Better yet, make it a video call,” n suggested, though he waited as Freya moved to hang up.
He didn’t leave. He kept watching. What if he was wrong? Ellis didn’t seem like the type to cheat. He couldn’t use Ellis without being absolutely sure. So he waited.
While n kept watch, Ellis nced down at his phone, typed out a few words, and set it aside.
Not long after, n received a message from Freya.
She said, “He’s in a meeting. He’ll call me after ten.”
n’s face darkened, his expression tightening with suspicion.
And then, things went from bad to worse.
Ellis opened one of the boxes, took out a woman’s ring, and gently ran his fingers over it before handing it across the table. The woman looked surprised and slipped it onto her finger.
C?????? ???????? ??t g??l??ov?ls.??○??
That crossed the line. n was seething. He whipped out his phone and snapped a photo of the scene, ready to send it to Freya. But the moment he opened their chat, he hesitated.
No. Not yet.
He needed to confront Ellis first, find out the truth, and then decide what to say to Freya.
With that resolve, n stayed where he was, watching. The woman kept admiring the ring, smiling softly as she turned it on her finger.
Anyone who walked in right then would think they were lovers. Eventually, n couldn’t stomach it any longer. He left the balcony and made his way to the parking lot, settling into his car to wait.
Ellis would have toe this way when he left.
For the next thirty minutes, n sat there alone, brooding. The more he thought, the more his fury grew, simmering just beneath the surface, ready to boil over. His assistant called a few times, but n ignored them all, telling him to head back without him.
Five minutester, Ellis finally exited the restaurant.
He was stillughing and chatting with the woman as they said their goodbyes, his easygoing demeanorpletely intact.
n couldn’t hold it in anymore. The moment the woman drove off, he stepped out of his car and called out in mock surprise.
“Ellis? What a coincidence, you’re here too.”
Ellis froze for a beat. Turning around and recognizing him, he greeted n in a low, cautious tone.
“Hi, n.”
“Here for a business trip?” n asked, strolling up and tossing a nce back toward the restaurant.
“Not exactly a business trip,” Ellis replied, caught off guard. “Just taking care of a few things. I’ll be heading back in a few days.”
“Is that so?” n’s expression soured noticeably.
