Chapter 1161

    ?Chapter 1161:

About an hourter, the doctor was examining Yvonne at the nearest hospital. He treated her scrapes and arranged for her to be admitted. She was hooked up to a sedative drip to help her rx.

Norton watched it all happen with great sorrow. As the nurse administered the drip to Yvonne, he stepped outside and called Leif.

“Find out who is behind this,” Norton ordered menacingly. “I want to know who’s been targeting my wife.”

Leif didn’t have to be told twice.

When Norton stepped back into the room, he found Yvonne looking around in mild panic. “What is it? Are you hurt anywhere?” he asked in rm, rushing to the bedside and clutching her hand.

But Yvonne seemed to calm down as soon as she saw him. “It’s nothing,” she muttered, forcing yet another smile.

In truth, she had panicked when she woke up and didn’t see him anywhere. Now that he was right by her side, she was awash with relief. She squeezed his hand, a gesture he returned almost instantly.

“Go to sleep,” he told her. “I’ll stay and watch over you.”

Yvonne nodded and closed her eyes. Perhaps it was the sedative, perhaps it was his presence, but she slept soundly that night.

When Yvonne woke up the next morning, her first instinct was to panic once again.

But before she could do much else, she felt Norton take her hand. “Don’t be afraid.”

She turned to him and sighed in relief. “I’m actually feeling better now.”

“Good. I asked Z to prepare some food and bring it over. I’m afraid you’ll have to stay here for the next few days. You need to recuperate properly.”

“And I’ll stay here and keep youpany,” Norton added firmly before she could protest.

This time, Yvonne’s smile was a little brighter. “Thank you.”

He leaned over the bed and stroked her hair. “It’s nothing.”

She could be stubborn to a fault, always insisting on handling everything on her own, even when she was clearly struggling.

“Next time, don’t take everything on yourself,” he said softly. “You know I’m always here for you.”

Yvonne looked up and met his steady gaze. For a moment, she was lost in the depth of his eyes. Could she really trust him?

Just then, Norton’s phone lit up on the bedside table. He took a few seconds to read the message, then gave her a brief nce before walking to the window. It was from Leif: Mr. Burke, we have found the culprits. It’s Alexis and Katrina from Horizon Entertainment. They’ve been spreading rumors online and even hired people to harass Mrs. Burke. It was all their doing!

Even through the text, Norton could sense Leif’s outrage. His own expression darkened as he absorbed the information. So those two had dared to harm his woman? They had practically invited their own destruction.

Norton’s lips curled into a cold smirk as he typed out a response. Put an end to all the cyberbullying. Track down everyone who was involved in harming Yvonne, whether physically or online. Spare no effort or expense, and crush Horizon Entertainment for good.
