?Chapter 1331:
Without a word, Sadie shot Emerson a frosty re and walked past him, falling in line with her escorts.
There was nothing left to say. The threat hung heavy in the air, and further arguments were pointless.
There was no mistaking Emerson’s motive. He was after the things her mother had left behind.
Sadie’s thoughts raced. She needed a n, and she needed it fast. Their footsteps echoed in the long, shadowed corridor, filling the otherwise still silence.
At regr intervals, guards stood watch, their eyes missing nothing as she passed by.
Where exactly was she?
She tried to orient herself, but everything was unfamiliar.
The Wolfpack’s reputation for secrecy wasn’t exaggerated. This stronghold was masterfully hidden.
Discreetly, Sadie took in every detail of her surroundings.
Despite thevish decor, an unmistakable feeling of oppressive confinement hung in the air.
Beyond the manor, not a single other building seemed to exist. A nce through the window at the corridor’s end revealed a bleak area to the north—just open, emptynd. Could that direction hold an escape route?
After a tense walk that felt like an eternity, Sadie’s escorts finally paused before a door.
One of the men swung it open and signaled for her to step inside.
Sadieplied, her face unreadable.
Once inside the room, she patted herself down.
Nothing.
Her phone was missing.

rm rising, Sadie turned around and fixed her gaze on the two guards now stationed outside her door. “Where are my belongings?”
The two men, covered in ink, shared a brief look before one answered, “Mr. Stewart ordered you can’t contact the outside for now. If you need a phone, you’ll have to use one of ours. Internal lines only.”
So that was it.
Total istion. She was a prisoner in all but name.
Fury red in Sadie’s chest, her breathsing hard and fast.
“Leave. Now.” Her words cut through the air, icy and absolute. “And for the record, I’m not your boss’ daughter. My family name is Hudson.”
The two guards didn’t linger. They simply gave Sadie a curt nod and stepped out, shutting the door behind them.
The sharp click of the lock echoed through the room, making Sadie’s anger burn even hotter.
She stormed over to the window and shoved at it with all her strength.
