Chapter 1330

    Chapter 1330:

Relief flooded through Sadie. They were safe.

The tension in Sadie’s body melted away, her legs almost buckling beneath her.

Emerson turned to the guard, issuing a quiet order. “Shadow their car. Don’t interfere unless absolutely necessary.”

The bodyguard didn’t hesitate. “Understood, sir,” he replied, before hurrying out.

    Unless absolutely necessary?

That phrase sent another jolt of anxiety racing through Sadie’s chest.

Fear and anger surged as she spun on Emerson. “What are you nning now? Afara is supposed to be your friend. Don’t you care what happens to him? Don’t you care about anyone’s safety?”

For a split second, a flicker of pain crossed Emerson’s face, almost too quick to catch.

“Sadie, how could you think that of your own father? Trust me, I know those people won’ty a finger on Noah. I only want everyone brought here safely,” he replied, but the gentleness in his tone felt oddly off.

“Besides, I also want to meet your husband.”

His expression softened, but his words took on an unsettling edge. “Oh, and I heard you sent your son and mother-inw to Zupren. Would you like me to arrange for them to join us here? We could have a real family reunion.”

Sadie’s insides turned to ice as the threatnded.

She saw straight through Emerson. This was nothing but a ploy to collect more leverage over her.

Anger left her shaking, her lips pressed in a thin line, unable to get a word out.

Atst, the mask slipped from Emerson’s face.

He heaved a sigh, his voice t and cold. “Rx, Sadie. No one’s in danger, as long as you give me what I want.”

    Of course!

    Your new favorite is gα?ησν????s?c?m

All that so-called fatherly affection had been nothing but a carefully crafted performance.

Atst, Emerson stopped pretending and revealed his true intentions.

He’d clearly been waiting for this moment.

Sadie’s lips curled into a mocking smile as she locked eyes with him. “I have no idea what you’re after. But before you do anything rash, remember this: if something happens to Noah or me in Zupren, the Wall Group won’t rest until you pay.”

Emerson’s expression hardened, the warmth draining from his face. A quiet sigh escaped him, as if surrendering to his own exhaustion.

“Bring her back to her room,” he ordered, his voice turning cold and clipped. “No one is to let her out without my direct permission.”

On cue, several men with tattooed forearms filed in from the hallway. They radiated intimidation, though they still showed a rough sort of deference as they motioned for Sadie to go with them.
