?Chapter 1439:
Eileen yfully shielded her head with her hands and threw herself into Bryan’s arms. “Gabri, help!” she cried out dramatically.
Gabri, who had just devoured the chocte frosting off her donut, leaped to her feet. With sticky chocte fingers, she charged at Bryan, ready to “rescue” her mother.
Laughter filled the living room.
As Colby’s wedding day drew near, news of Bryan’s impending attendance spread like wildfire.
The Deleon family’s mansion had been quiettely, but now, many people havee to visit. Bryan believed that Colby, whether dead or alive, wouldn’t be able to leave the mansion because of this.
Javier was in a great mood and decided to have a few drinks the night before the wedding.
“‘We have some excellent wine in the cer,” Javier said. “Send someone to get a few bottles for me.”
One of the servants was about to leave, but Amoura quickly stood up and stopped him. “Hold on a moment,” she said.
The servant stopped and looked back at Amoura, waiting for her instructions.
Javier looked at Amoura, wondering what she was about to do. Amoura smiled and gestured towards “Colby”. “Colby, dear,” she said, “on this happy asion, you should be the
one to get the wine for your father. He has put so much effort into nning this wedding for you.”

“0kay,” the fake Colby replied. He stood up and walked towards the cer without another word.
Amoura sat down next to Javier and gently patted his chest. “Now that the Deleon Group is doing well again,” she said. “1’m going to stop interfering with business matters. I’ve even found Colby a wife! Soon, I’ll be a grandmother, and I’m so excited to take care of their baby. You shouldn’t be angry anymore, and please don’t drink too much tonight. You know, tomorrow is the wedding.”
Javier had been putting on a happy facetely, but Amoura could tell his smiles were not genuine. It was obvious to her that he was still a bit mad.
“Let’s not talk about that right now,” Javier said. “We can deal with it after Colby’s wedding. l’
His expression was pleasant enough, but his words made Amoura’s heart sink.
She held his gaze for a moment and then jumped to her feet. “0h, we’ll need more wine for the wedding tomorrow,” she said. “I’ll go tell Colby to bring more.” With that, she quickly left.
The Deleon family’s mansion, designed to resemble a grand castle, was aze with light. But a narrow path leading to the back of the mansion was shrouded in an unsettling darkness.
“Colby” strolled down the path, hands shoved deep in his pockets.
As he approached the cer door, the sensor light flicked on, casting his shadow against the stone wall.
A brand-new lock had been installed on the cer door. “‘Colby” fumbled with it for a moment before finally fishing a key out of his pocket to unlock the door.
