?Chapter 1342:
Gabri epted the gifts, thanked them, and raced over to Eileen. Eileen assumed she wasing to share the gifts with her.
Unexpectedly, Gabri said, “Mommy, Merry Christmas! Please give me a big gift!”
Even though this wasn’t Gabri’s first Christmas, this year, she understood what was going on.
As a new mother, Eileen hadn’t expected Gabri to ask her for a gift.
Gabri was already holding three gifts from other family members. She gazed eagerly at Eileen, who could only send a desperate look at Bryan.
Eileen hadn’t prepared anything.
Bryan quickly understood Eileen’s dilemma. He strolled over and handed Gabri a gift. “Here you go.”
“Thank you, Daddy!” Gabri grinned at Bryan, her tiny teeth shining, as she epted the gift.
Before Bryan could say anything, Gabri darted past him, her eyes bright with excitement as she turned to Eileen. “Mommy, where’s your gift for me?”
A flush of embarrassment flooded Eileen. She nervously pinched her clothes with her hands and locked eyes with Gabri for a few seconds before blurting out, “Did you prepare a gift for Mommy?”
Gabri’s smile faltered, and confusion crossed her face. She nced at the gifts in her hands.

After a brief pause, she offered the smallest one of the gifts to Eileen.
Without a word, Eileen steeled herself and took it.
She then noticed Gabri looking up at her with anticipation. “You need to say ‘Merry Christmas’ to me now,” Gabri reminded her. “I just gave you a gift.”
Eileen managed a smile and said, “Merry Christmas, Gabri.” Gabri didn’t even return the smile. She turned and headed down the stairs toward the living room, and Eileen caught her soft sigh.
Gabri strolled over to the sofa and leaned against it. “Mommy didn’t give me a gift and even took one from me.”
Ruby couldn’t hold back augh. “It’s alright, Gabri. You still have many gifts, right?”
“Yeah…” Gabri nced at the gifts she had, letting out a sigh. “Mommy didn’t give me a gift and even took one from me.”
Ruby couldn’t hold back augh. “It’s alright, Gabri. You still have many gifts, right?”
“Yeah…” Gabri nced at the gifts she had, letting out a sigh again. “Now I have one less.”
Eileen felt her ears heat up with embarrassment as she caught sight of Gabri’s expression. She shot a re at Bryan. “Why didn’t you remind me to get her a gift?”
