?Chapter 931:
Under Bryan’s shocked gaze, she left quickly.
It had been a few days since Eileen’sst visit to the hospital. She had been checking in with Dolores through messages asionally and heard that Emerson’s condition had finally stabilized.
She picked up some baby food and fruit on her way. When she arrived at the hospital, Dolores was nowhere to be found, and Emerson was with a nurse. Emerson had been in the hospital for a while now and was ustomed to the caretaker, but today, he was crying and fussing, which made Eileen feel for him.
“Miss Curtis,” the caretaker said, taking the things Eileen had brought. “Miss Sampson went homest night and hasn’t been back since.”
That was strange for Dolores. She had been by Emerson’s side constantly since he’d gotten sick. What could have kept her away for the night? It was already past ten in the morning, and she still hadn’t returned.
Dolores was able to continue her online teaching job from the hospital using theputer there. Eileen had noticed that the background in all of Dolores’ teaching videos clearly showed a hospital room.
“She has been acting differentlytely, and it worries me,” the caregiver added after a pause. “I’m concerned that Miss Sampson might do something drastic. She doesn’t arrive until almost each day, and when she does, she seems down and sad. The only time she seems a bit more like herself is when she’s working.”
Eileen reassured the caregiver and then left the room to call Dolores. It took a while for Dolores to answer, and from the background noise, Eileen could tell she was on a bus.

“I’m at the hospital,” Eileen said.
“I’ll be there in ten minutes!” Dolores said loudly before hanging up abruptly.
True to her word, Dolores arrived in less than ten minutes, practically jogging. She was carrying aptop bag and a stack of papers, clearly out of breath.
“You should have let me know you wereing,” Dolores said. “I would have been here sooner.”
Eileen guided Dolores toward a chair at the end of the hallway.
“Let’s talk,” she said.
“Okay,” Dolores agreed.
As soon as they were seated, Dolores took the initiative to speak. “Do you want to know what I’ve been up totely?” she asked.
“Yes, just tell me,” Eileen replied.
“I’ve made a deal with Julio. I’m going to have his baby.” Dolores pulled an agreement from her stack of papers and handed it to Eileen.
The agreement clearly stated that Julio would have full custody of the child.
Reading the agreement, Eileen realized that Julio didn’t know about Emerson. It seemed Julio wanted a child from Dolores, and Dolores was willing to have one in order to get the umbilical cord blood for Emerson.
“I’ve been thinking… If I give Julio a child, we won’t bother each other anymore after that. He won’t fight me for Emerson, even if he knows about him. I can protect Emerson. It’s a win-win, right?” Dolores looked at Eileen with a serious expression. “I’m not asking for a new life or a new baby… I’m only having it to protect Emerson. I don’t feel anything for it.”
Her trembling voice and white knuckles betrayed her true emotions. It was clear that she would feel something for the new baby.
