Chapter 929

    ?Chapter 929:

Her aggressive tone made Conroy angry. “I did exactly as you said. Eileen didn’t care at all. What more could I do? Stop ming me for everything!”

“I’m just anxious, alright?” Gianna responded. “Everything I’m doing is for Jessica’s future! She’s my daughter, right? If she inherits the Vazquez family’s fortune, you’ll gain a lot from it too!” Gianna’s frustration bubbled over. “How have you been raising Jessica all these years? Every time she sees me, she gives me attitude. She doesn’t respect me as her mother at all!”

Conroy sat on the sofa, his head bowed, listening to her scolding in silence.

“I’m trying to do right by you and your daughter, but what do I get in return? One doesn’t even acknowledge me, and the other can’t get anything right without me stepping in!” Gianna’s voice cracked with hurt as tears welled up in her eyes.

“I don’t say anything bad about you to Jessica. It’s just that Jessica isn’t close to you because you weren’t the one who raised her. Spend more time with her, and things will smooth over. Why bring this up now?” Conroy sighed, pulling a cigarette and a lighter from his packet, along with the two business cards.

Gianna picked up the business cards. “Do you have these? The Byrd family? The Perry family?”

Conroy told Gianna about his meeting with Kam. Before he could finish, Gianna erupted again.

“How can you be so dense? Right after you told Bryan Eileen was the Aston family’s child, Mrs. Aston sought you out. She’s clearly ready to make a move. She values your help, since she gave you these contacts. What are you waiting for? Go to the Byrd family!”

Before Conroy could catch his breath, Gianna’s scolding quickly propelled him out of the ward.

Conroy might not have been a great person, but he sure knew how to pick a good restaurant. The two dishes Bryan had packed were Eileen’s favorites, and she ate with relish as she watched him prepare food for Gabri.

Bryan had set up a cozy little kitchen in the lounge, and by noon, he was cooking for Gabri. As he cooked, Bryan nced back at Eileen, who was enjoying her meal.

“Don’t you want to discuss the matter with your grandmother?” Bryan asked.

Eileen shook her head, a slight smirk on her lips. “You’ve seen Conroy for what he is, haven’t you? When ites down to it, he’s just a spineless idiot. He can act tough when Gianna has his back, but on his own, he’s nothing. I figure if I turn him down this time, he and Gianna will have a fight when he gets back.”

She was still undecided about whether to pay to keep Dottie’s matter under wraps, but for now, she was content to let Gianna and Conroy bicker while she mulled it over.

Bryan served her a te of spaghetti and then let Gabri finish the rest before feeding it to her.

The open window let the mouthwatering aroma of spaghetti waft through the room. Eileen, after taking a bite, leaned back with a satisfied sigh.

“Maybe we should just quit and open a little restaurant. You could be a full-time chef.”

The idea was absurd. They would never leave their business, which was worth hundreds of millions of dors, just to cook for people. Bryan gave her a sideways nce.

“We would need a sessor first if we were to quit.”
