?Chapter 928:
Conroy was left with nothing but a credit card bearing an overdraft record. Enraged, he mmed his hand on the table and stormed out.
“Do you think I’m scared to reveal everything? I have nothing left to lose now! I’m not afraid of you!” Conroy muttered as he watched Eileen and Bryan walk away. He clenched his fists and added, “I don’t believe you’ll be this bold in front of the media once I reveal you’re not my biological daughter!”
He pulled out his phone, intending to call a reporter, but was suddenly stopped by a hand. The hand was delicate. Conroy turned to see who it belonged to and was startled. “Mrs. Aston?”
“Are you here for lunch?” Kam responded, ncing at the restaurant behind Conroy. “Or are you here to handle some matters?”
“Well…” Conroy was at a loss for words, unsure whether he should discuss his situation with Kam.
As he hesitated, Kam said, “I heard you were about to reveal that Eileen isn’t your biological daughter, right?”
Caught off guard, Conroy nodded awkwardly. “Mrs. Aston, I didn’t mean to take it this far. It’s just that they were too harsh in kicking me out…”
He expressed his grievances with a sorrowful look, criticizing the Vazquez family for their ruthlessness.
“They may have wronged you, but you shouldn’t expose Eileen’s identity,” Kam advised. “She is thest link between you two. In the public’s eyes, you’re still Eileen’s father. Any action you take will reflect on the Vazquez family, and they’ll turn to Eileen for your misdeeds. But if you make Eileen’s real identity public, you’ll have nothing to do with her or the Vazquez family.”

After mulling it over, Conroy suddenly had a lightbulb moment. “I get it now. Thank you for the insight, Aston!”
“You’re wee,” Kam replied with a knowing smile. “As the saying goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, but our situation is a bit different. You’re in a tight spot right now, so understand this: I’m lending you a hand, not using you.” She was keen to make it clear that she didn’t want to be used of using him as a pawn against Eileen.
Kam added, “If my assistance helps turn the tide for you, it simply means that…”
Her words trailed off, leaving the implication hanging in the air.
Conroy didn’t hesitate. “That I’m ipetent. It has nothing to do with you, Mrs. Aston!”
“You’re a wiser man than you think, and these times, people tend to leave you high and dry. Take my advice—reach out to the Perry family and the Byrd family.” Kam handed Conroy two business cards, which he quickly epted, expressing his gratitude repeatedly.
Yet, doubt lingered in his mind. Instead of heading straight to the Perry or Byrd families, he made his way to the hospital.
The moment he entered the ward, Gianna approached him.
“How did it go? Did Eileen agree to cough up fifty million as hush money?”
Conroy’s face fell. “No.”
Gianna’s expression immediately darkened. “What did you say to her? Didn’t you follow my instructions? The Vazquez family is powerful. They care about their reputation. Le wouldn’t want Dottie’s past exposed.”
