Chapter 624

    ?Chapter 624:

Perhaps it was the night he spent holding Gabri close that unsettled his heart, making him long for their constantpany.

Eileen studied Bryan, but he remained unfazed. He shot a cold nce at Judie, who was standing in the corner, and said, “You two go ahead.”

“Bryan, you…” Judie was so shocked to see him alive that she struggled to speak.

“You can n her second marriage after I’m dead,” Bryan said, unwilling to engage in an argument with Judie.

Momentster, a waiter served a te of spaghetti. Out of courtesy, Judie requested another te for Bryan. Feeling uneasy, she left shortly after.

“Have you cracked the password on the wooden box yet?” Eileen asked as she ate.

Bryan shook his head. “No, Jacob and Josue took it.”

Eileen paused at this, her expression turning serious. “So, there’s a chance you won’t make it. Why did you decide toe here to see me? Are you trying to sabotage my chances of meeting someone new?”

Bryan was taken aback, unsure how to respond. He noticed a hint of provocation in her eyes.

He replied inly, “I’ll disguise myself so no one will recognize me. Since someone else will be taking my ce, I should be the one to pick your next partner.”

Eileen understood just how stubborn Bryan could be.

“If you miss Gabri and me, you can just—” Eileen began.

Bryan interjected, “I just came to offer you some advice.”

Was he serious about choosing her next partner himself?

Eileen resumed eating, feeling that Bryan’s tone was a mixture of half-joking and half-serious.

Soon, they were served another te of spaghetti. Bryan began eating slowly.

Eileen and Bryan stayed at the restaurant until three in the afternoon.

Roderick came out of the kitchen and noticed Eileen. He shook his hands dry, wiped them on his apron, and walked into the room. Upon seeing Bryan, he was so shocked that he almost jumped up.

“Bryan?” His eyes widened. “You’re alive!”

“I’ve always said he isn’t dead.” Eileen had insisted to Roderick and the others that Bryan wasn’t dead. She couldn’t bear to hear the word “dead,” especially since she hadn’t seen Bryan’s body.

Roderick was stunned for a moment before quickly sitting next to Bryan. “It’s really good that you’re still alive. Why didn’t you tell me you wereing?”

Eileen smiled and replied, “You were busy. We didn’t have anything else to do, so we just sat here and waited for you.”

As they spoke, Denise and Judie walked in, with Denise carrying a te of fruit.

After everyone took their seats, Denise slid the te of fruit toward Judie.

“The restaurant is closed now. I would normally be heading home at this time, but since you’re here today, Eileen, I’ll stay and chat for a while.” Judie nced at Bryan and asked, “Where have you been, Bryan? Eileen has been very distressed and has put in a lot of effort to find you.”

Roderick, who wanted to ask the same question, nodded and added, “Yes, I was really concerned about Eileen during that time.”

Upon hearing this, Denise quickly interjected, “As her mother, I was also really worried about her. I tried moving in with her during that time, but Ruby wouldn’t have it. I couldn’t even see my own daughter. It’s utterly absurd.”
