Chapter 1652

    ?Chapter 1652:

Tasha’s eyes widened, a spark of curiosity glinting in them. “What is it?” she asked.

Zaria’s gaze dropped briefly before meeting Tasha’s. “My father’s starting to piece together the memories he lost in that car crash,” she said, her tone heavy with unspoken worry.

Tasha’s face froze. “What?” Her voice cracked, betraying a flicker of rm. “Zaria, who told you that?”

“My father’s psychologist,” Zaria replied. “My father has been battling headachestely. He went for a check-up. His doctor—Dr. Brooks—thinks the memories might be surfacing. My father’s eager to dig into his past, so he has set up a hypnosis session to try and recall the lost memories.”

A shadow of unease crossed Zaria’s features. She exhaled, her fingers brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear. “What will he uncover? Will those memories unravel everything we’ve nned?”

Tasha said nothing, her silence louder than words. But her expression grew increasingly grave, and her face turned slightly pale.<fnb354> This text is hosted at find·novel</fnb354>

Zaria tilted her head, noticing the shift in Tasha’s demeanor. She waved a hand in front of her eyes. “Tasha, what’s wrong?”

Tasha blinked, snapping out of her trance. “Oh, nothing,” she said, forcing a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

After a beat, Tasha asked, “So, Zaria, when’s this hypnosis happening?”

Zaria shrugged, her brow furrowing slightly. “Not sure exactly. Probably in the next day or two.”

Tasha nodded, her lips curving into a practiced smile. “Got it.” She reached out, giving Zaria’s arm a yful nudge. “Don’t forget our deal, okay? Put in a good word for me with your dad.”

    “Will do,” Zaria replied.

“I should get going,” Tasha said.

“Stay a bit longer,” Zaria said, her voice warm.

Tasha shook her head. “I’m tired. I should go home.” Before Zaria could say anything more, Tasha turned, her steps quick as she left.

Zaria watched her go, a sly smirk tugging at her lips.

Something was off, she thought. Tasha’s reaction screamed unease. Zaria believed that her father’s memory loss was odd and must have something to do with Tasha.

Tasha was more afraid of him remembering the past than even Tamara and Nni. The realization sharpened Zaria’s resolve. Since Tasha knew about the hypnosis, she would likely try to stop it.

Zaria believed she didn’t need to make a move. She knew her grandmother had already secured Dr. Brooks with a hefty bribe to lock her father’s memories away for good. But no one else knew this—not even Tasha.

Zaria’s lips pressed into a thin line. She wouldn’t spill that secret to Tasha. After seeing Tasha’s reaction, she was more determined than ever to sabotage the hypnosis.
