Chapter 1651

    ?Chapter 1651:

“It’s possible,” Tamara murmured, piecing it together. “Maybe after she met Elwood for the first time, she mentioned it to Car, and Car told her something.”

“Quite possibly,” Nni replied. Her brows knitted together as worry edged her voice. “What do we do now? What if Kylee already knows something important?”

Tamara let out a coldugh. “Even if she does know something, it doesn’t matter,” she said with a dismissive wave of her hand. “Elwood and Car? That’s dust in the past. Car’s married now, with a child. Whatever Car and Elwood had is long buried—there’s no reviving it in this lifetime. So what if Kylee’s caught wind of it? It changes nothing. And in a few days, once Dr. Brooks hypnotizes Elwood, the memory of Car will be wiped clean from Elwood’s mind.”<fn030e> This text is hosted at F?ndNovel</fn030e>

After a moment of quiet reflection, Nni gave a small nod, the tension in her shoulders easing. “That puts my mind at ease,” she said.

Downstairs, in the garden, Zaria looked at Tasha, drawing in a deep breath as if steadying herself. Her eyes locked onto Tasha’s, firm with resolve. “I’ve decided,” she said atst. “I’ll go along with what you suggested earlier. But you have to swear—this stays between us. No one else can ever find out.”

Tasha’s lips curled into a knowing smile the moment Zaria spoke; she’d expected this all along, that Zaria would cave under the weight of her threats. “Don’t worry, Zaria,” she said.

Smoothly, her voice dripping with assurance, Tasha said, “Your little secret stays locked tight. No one will ever hear a whisper from me.”

Zaria’s brows knitted together in a flicker of doubt as she hesitated, then asked, “But how exactly do you want me to help you? You know how stubborn my father is—he might not even listen to a word I say.”

Tasha gave a slow nod. “I know that. What I need from you is simple—help me get some time alone with Elwood. And every now and then, slip a kind word in your father’s ear on my behalf. That’s all.”

Zaria blinked, surprise flickering across her face. “That’s really it?”

Your favorite tales are on gα?ησν????s??оnn

“Yeah,” Tasha replied, calm confidence in her tone. “My demands aren’t lofty. I understand I have to take things slow with Elwood; it’s all about patience and taking it one careful step at a time.”

Though she said this, she did not think it was enough. It was only the opening move—showing too much eagerness now would spoil the game. Besides, if sheid bare her true intentions from the start, Zaria would never agree to help her.

The key was to win her over first; once Zaria wasmitted, backing out would be far more difficult for her.

After a long pause, Zaria pressed her lips into a thin line, her gaze sharpening with resolve. “Alright,” she said firmly, “I know what to do now.”

Tasha’s smile blossomed. “I’m counting on you, Zaria.”

Just as Zaria was about to nod, she thought of something. She frowned, her eyes locking onto Tasha’s with sudden seriousness. “There’s one problem,” she admitted, “and it’s a tricky one.”
