Chapter 1650

    ?Chapter 1650:

Since he had asked, Belinda resolved toy it all bare. She met his gaze and said, “Haven’t you noticed how much Faye relies on you? She has mentioned multiple times that you’re biased, that you’ve changed, things like that. And the cause of that shift, in her eyes, is me. So… if you look at it from her perspective, she might think that if I were out of the picture, you would treat her the way you used to.”

After a pause, she added, “Of course, this is all just our theorizing. It might not be the reality.”

“I get what you’re saying,” Lucas said, nodding gravely, his expression somber. After a brief pause, he continued, “But Faye and I… we’ve been close since we were kids. I know her character. I can’t see her doing something like that.”

Belinda wasn’t surprised by his response.

“I understand your perspective. That’s exactly why I kept this from you before. First, it’s just a theory with no proof. Second, I knew you would never suspect Faye. I didn’t want to burden you with this.”

Lucas’ distress deepened at her words. He looked at her intently, his brows furrowed. “Belinda, I appreciate you trying to protect me, but I would rather you didn’t hide things from me. It hurts more knowing you felt you couldn’t tell me.”

Belinda rose from her seat and moved to his side, sping his hand warmly. “Okay, I hear you. From now on, I won’t hide anything from you. I’ll share whatever’s on my mind with you, no matter what.”

Lucas slid his arms around her waist, his mood still heavy. He didn’t say anything else.

Belinda cradled his handsome face gently, leaning in to press a soft kiss to his lips. “Let’s drop this for now. Shall we finish our dinner?”

Lucas looked at her, his voice rough. “Kiss me again.”

A smile broke across Belinda’s face. She leaned in once more, kissing him tenderly for a while. With Belinda’sforting kiss, Lucas’ mood indeed improved a bit.

They then resumed their meal without mentioning the subject again.

In the Wright family’s house, Nni sat in Tamara’s room.

“Mom, what do you think Elwood said to Kylee when he followed her out?” Nni asked, her voice tinged with anxiety.

Tamara’s features tightened, a shadow passing over her face. “It must have something to do with Car,” she said, her voice low.

Nni’s brow furrowed, her voiceced with quiet disapproval. “Why is it that Zaria is always hanging out with Kylee?”<fnbe66> Checktest chapters at find(?)ovel</fnbe66>

Tamara held her tongue, yet the subtle tightening of her lips and the flicker in her eyes betrayed a trace of disapproval she made no effort to hide.

Just then, a flicker of realization crossed Nni’s face. Her expression turned solemn as she leaned in slightly. “Mom,” she said slowly, “I’ve noticed Kylee often brings up Car when we’re around. Do you think she knows something?”

Nni’s words stirred a new line of thought in Tamara’s mind.
