Chapter 23- Choose War
Sabrina''s POV
"You didn''t have to do that." I say to Aiden, who walks in to my room, looking disheveled.
He looks at me for a few seconds before pulling me in for a hug.
"My father is too chicken shit to want to y god of this realm. Yes he loves the power but he is not
smart enough toe up with whatever coup they have nned. There has to be someone in the
shadows pulling the strings." Aiden confesses.
We pull away to look at each other.
"Well, Hunter will find out soon and then it will be war. Things will get ugly and I''m the moon goddess,
of the earth realm. I don''t have control over this realm as they''d like to think." I say. Actually afraid of
what will be of this ce once the two families go to war.
I''m not stupid to not know the impact that family has had on this realm. Some people will fight for them,
die for them.
"Don''t do that. You are just as important as your father or brother. You have as much pull as all of them
and that is why everyone was against your ascension." He tells me.
I smile at Aiden.
"I mean, I know I''m like royalty here but my work is not with this realm but down there. My father is the
ruler here and he will kill every one right now to protect his family and I''m sure your father knows that
so what could they possibly have that could get my dad to step down again?"I ask, walking all the way
to the window.
Evan walks in carrying a tray with tea. He ces it on my side table and then bids us goodbye.
"I''m having Evan and the elders work their magic. They can spy on the realm and I''m pushing my ball
to tomorrow so I can have everyone in the room to get a feel of their energies." I say, taking my tea in
hand and walking back to the window, looking out.
Aidenes to stand beside me.
"And what will you do when you get what you''re looking for?" Aiden asks me and I remain silent for a
second.
"I don''t know yet but the n is to grab the ones that are of a higher standing and torture them in to
giving us the story on what''s really going on." I say.
"Then let''s go grab my father right now." Aiden says to me, I look up at him with an eyebrow raised.
"No. We act at the ball. Besides, I''m leaving your father to my dad." I say.
"I was wondering why you moved up the ball." Hunter says as he walks in to my room, startling Aiden
and I.
He walks up to Aiden, giving him a look before looking my way and giving me a smile.
"You know at first I thought not to avenge my family because your mate is rted to the one family that
betrayed me but now? Now I will get my revenge and I won''t me merciful. So much was taken from me,
for so long and even now, they still want something from me and my family." Hunter says as his skin
changes color.
I could feel his anger growing. His ws out but he balls up his hands in to fists, digging in to his skin
as blood drops on to my floor.
"Dad, breath. Before you go off on a killing spree, let''s n better and find out who is in on this
resistance. Once we know, you can kill them all." I say, Aiden''s eyes bulging out looking at me.
Hunter closes his eyes and turns around to walk away.
"You''re right. Get some rest because tomorrow this family is getting to work. My family ruled for
generations and it won''t change any time soon. Aiden, you are part of this family too but if you side with
your family one time, well you can guess what I''ll do to you." Hunter warns.
"Dad!" I shout out before a growl escapes my mouth.
He walks out, leaving me with Aiden.
"There''s no stopping your dad. He''s lost too much to allow anyone to take anything more. There will be
bloodshed tomorrow." Aiden says to me before he walks away and in to the bathroom for a shower.
I can''t even begin to imagine what he''s feeling and I''m trying not to get in his head but I''ll have to soon.
His family wants mine gone and as much as he is my mate, he loves his family as I do mine and who
knows what he will do when the timees to choose a side?
Hunter will kill them all and he knows that now.
I run out of my room, making my way to the office to find my mom, my twin brother, my little sister and
my dad inside.
"You have to mark him." Josey blurts out as soon as I close the door.
"Yes, that is the only way to make sure he''s on our side if the timees." My mother says.
"I will not mark him because I''m scared he will pick his family over me." I say, folding my arms for that
added effect.
"Okay, I see you need a refresher course on this world. There is no rejection here sweety, if he sides
with his family then that will make him a weapon we can''t fight because he is just like you. Maybe not
as strong but he can''t be killed and we can''t have that." My mother says and I chuckle.
I walk up to my mother and the rest of my family.
"I will not mark him out of fear. I won''t do that to my love story. Everyst one of my rtionships was
jeopardized somehow and this will not be the case this time. Aiden is with me, he told his family already
and if he sides with his family, he will have me to deal with." I say, remembering why I came in to this
room in the first ce.
I walk away from them and to the circle in the middle of my office.
"I know who I am, I know of my capabilities. I know my family and what we can achieve together." I say
as the weather takes a change, the stars disappearing as the sky goespletely dark. The moon no
longer there as I refuel my entire energy, awakening the fire within.
My family looks at me, Josey''s eyes popping out.
"I am the moon goddess and daughter of the first family." I say, my voice getting deeper as Athena
comes out front with me.
Thunder rumbles over and over again before the entire realm is in a ckout.
"If Aiden betrays me, he will have me to deal with but until then, it is his family I have to deal with so go
get your bearings, calm your insides because tomorrow? Tomorrow we go to war and you kill everyone
that I tell you to." I say.
"Hold on, I thought we were going to capture them." Anthony asks and I smile at him, feeling it scare
him a little.
"We went easy on Ethia and she actually killed me. I''m not taking that chance again so we kill them all.
It is time we instill fear in this realm, to anyone that thinks they can go against us." I say, Josey nodding
excitedly.
"We are the motherfuckin First Family. They need to put a little respect on our name." I say as my body
is engulfed in mes, in purple mes.
"Yass girl!" Josey says as she walks up to me.
"I stand with you and tomorrow, they will bow." She says to me. Hunter stands taller as he looks at me.

"We are the alpha family and it is time they were reminded of that." I say looking at him and he nods his
head in agreement.
"For too long we have been rxed, forgetting that people don''t fear us anymore after the way Ethia
kicked us out. As a family, tomorrow we stand together and remind them of who we are." I say.
"And that we will not be disrespected!" Josey shouts out and we all let out a howl.
My mother joining in eventually.
"I have nothing to add but I''m in!" Anthony says, howling out again and the rest of us howling with him.
I came here to awaken my strength, to pull from all the hurt and betrayal I faced in my short life but I
guess seeing my family was enough. They are the ones I''m fighting for and that''s just what I needed to
garner up the strength to fight for them.
