CHAPTER 22


    Zaden came to his room, brushed his teeth and got ready for a morning run before he went over to


    Selena and woke her up.


    “Selena,e on, time for your training” he grabbed her arms and shook her gently


    “Hmm….five more minutes” she said in a low, husky voice before turning the opposite side and coil up


    “Selena… its already 5am. Wake up” Zaden said sternly. She sprang up to sit


    “Zaden, you are a psycho” she said calmly and fall back to bed. He rolled his eye and grabbed her by


    waist, pulling her towards him


    “Za…den…I only slept at 3 am…please…”he already pulled her out of the bed, into his arms, in a bridal

    “What were you doing till 3am?” he questioned, already reaching from under Selena to twist the


    bathroom door knob

    He dropped Selena into the bathtub, already filled with water. She struggled to resurface, wiping her

    “ZADEN!!!” she shouted


    “You have 15minutes to meet me at the yard” He walked towards the door and before getting out of


    there, he turned his body slightly.


    “Don’t force me to give u a bath” he said low making Selena eye widened. She pped the water


    making a big chunk ssh out to her face and effectively suffocating her again. She got ready as told


    and went to the yard, where Zaden was already waiting for her. She had a terrible bag and dark circle


    under her eye as she yawned.


    “Lesson number one, always get enough sleep. As a wolf in front line, you have to be ready at any


    time” calm but stern. She looked up to him, chin up


    “Is that so? I assume you won’t be knocking my room door in the middle of night anymore?” she said


    with a raised eyebrow and ran past him. He smiled


    “I will try my best…” he mumbled to himself before following her.


    It has been two hours since they started running. Orion wasn’t joking when he said Alpha Zaden is


    tough. He made her run steep hills, jumping over at least 25 fallen trees and running across deep


    streams. She gave up in the middle of their way back home. She plopped to the ground, t back and


    panting for breath. Her thin pink shirt is wet with sweat, showing off her sports bra. Zaden clutched his


    waist before bending down, offering her his hands so that she can get up. She swatted him away. She

    “I can’t leave you alone in the forest. We resume after 10 minutes break” she whimpered at his order.


    “Zaden…please…you can sleep in my bed today…” she begged him, still t on the ground.


    “Are you bribing me?” he asked with a frown and she nodded


    “Oh lord, you need to learn more than stamina. You don’t bribe the big boss, Selena” she stretched her


    hand up to his face and fumbled to pinch hold his chin.


    She shook it left to right “Honey, you can bribe anyone as long as the bribe is irresistible”.


    He bit his lower lips as his eyes red at her lips “There is a more irresistible bribe but you are too


    innocent for that” he replied her. A clench in his stomach says that she is about to win.


    “Come, you can sit nearby, I need to continue my training. I can’t allow you to weaken me” he scooped


    her up in his arms and walked away from the clear opening, back to forest


    “What is that?” she asked with her arms wrapped around his neck, referring to the bribe. Her ponytail

    “I’m not that stupid, baby girl” he said as he jumped over a tree trunk. They came to a clearing between


    the woods where another smaller waterfall, probably originating from the mother waterfall she saw


    months ago. All the other pack leaders are already there. Zaden ced Selena under a tree and


    jogged to others.


    “Sorry, Bambi slowed me down” they chuckled before Zaden signaled to begin the training. Ropes


    hung from the top of the waterfall which isn’t in view. Zaden took off his shirt, exposing 8 packs that are

    “Shit” Selena mumbled. She subconsciously stood up from ground and paced slowly towards them.

    catch them if they fall. She stood there, head up with her eyes squinted against the sunshine as the


    pack leaders climbed up the rope. Slow and steady, with their arms at full force holding on to the rope

    disappeared. Selena stood there, looking at the top intensively, trying to find at least a hint of them. A


    pair of hands grabbed her shoulder behind her, making her jump.


    “Boo!!!” Xavier said at her ears. She turned around


    “Where did youe from?” she asked him


    “From the stairs behind there” Xavier pointed to the left of the waterfall. Selena looked back and forth


    between Xavier and the stairs a few times


    “Why didn’t you use that in the first ce?” they all chuckled


    “That is not ssified as resistance workout” Sitka said. Selena let out a sheepishugh


    “You don’t expect me to do that, do you?”


    “Absolutely yes” Make said making her eye widened


    “Not today” Zaden said.


    “You know what, you guys are just big bad wolfs. Bullies, may I add. Call my grandpa, I’m going with


    him. He might have more mercy towards me then you guys.” Selena stormed away from there, still


    rambling curses and statement as she walked into the forest. The leader’s pack followed her with a


    giggle from behind.

    All of a sudden, Selena came to an abrupt stop. She felt a sudden struck in her heart.


    “What happen?” Zaden whispered to her ears, as his warm breath fanned her ears. Selena closed her


    eye, trying to knock the pain in her heart off, while all the others were asking thousand question next to


    her. She subconsciously muffled all their voices as her ears focused on a sound that she can’t really

    ‘Remove the logs…’ as if a remote control was switch on, Make, Orion, Xavier and Sitka started


    moving to remove the branches, logs and tree on top of the phyton. Zaden could clearly feel they have


    disconnected from him, he is not the alpha anymore. Selena was slowly caressing the phyton while her
