Conrad sneered. "The Dragon yer Organization broke into the City Lord quarters of Buck Town in the middle of the night. It''s only right that they were punished for it. I can''t believe Dalton still had the nerve to show up in Buck Town, but since he''s here... we''re going to have to teach him a lesson."
Wilbur replied, "I''ve wanted to do that for a while now, Lord Conrad. We can go to the Hilton family with you to get some money. But once all of this is done, we hope you''ll join forces with us to take Dalton down."
Felix could guess what Wilbur was implying, and said, "Yes, that should be the way to do it. Do you agree, Lord Conrad?"
"Of course I do. Well, let''s go force some money out of those Hiltons now."
Conrad came to the Hilton family grounds with Wilbur and Felix in tow. The two guards by the gate saw that it was them and said at once, "Please wait a moment, we''ll head inside to report to them."
"No, that won''t be necessary."
Conrad struck the two guards unconscious, and the three men headed into the quarters. Conrad saw Grote in the courtyard, watering some flowers. "Oh, dear Lord Grote... What could have possibly happened to you? What happened to the Grote who was always down for a fight, a battle? The Grote I knew would never walk around without a sword strapped to his body. Look at you now, watering pot in hand. You''ve changed, Grote."
Grote nced at Conrad, smiling slightly. "I didn''t change, the world did. Conrad, you need to ept the fact that this world is beyond our control. We can''t change the course of our fate. I''m stuck as a regr cultivator for the rest of my life."
"Well, that''s because you were a coward! You had thating for you, Grote. You''re nothing but a weakling now, a low life that anyone can step on. I''m telling you to hand over a thousand gold coins to us now, or we''re going to make you."
Grote looked up at Wilbur and Felix, keeping a smile on his face. "Are you being serious right now? You''re going to rob my family right to my face?"
"I''d hand the money over if I were you, Grote, or we''re not going to let you go," Conrad demanded.
"Money?"
Grote snorted, then set the watering can down. "Okay, all three of you cane at me at the same time, then."
ns and families could rob each other. The losing party would have a portion of their money taken away each time until all of it was gone. In fact, robbing was now a way of life many smaller groups had sustained themselves on, and it was actively pushing the economy as well.
However, no one had ever dared to rob the Four Great Families before. They were the most powerful people in all of Buck Town, with sizeable resources that were not to be messed with.
This was something Grote had always been proud of, and he was certain that he would never ever get robbed.
And yet, it had happened.
Conrad said, "Alright, you said it yourself. We didn''t force you to take on three elites on your own."
Upon saying those words, Conrad released the energy aura in his body at once. Wilbur and Felix did the same as well.
Grote was shocked when he sensed the changes in their aura.
