Thus, Augheimer challenged Devan again the next day. This time, Augheimer defeated Devan. Devan''s powers had weakened significantly, and Augheimer soon found out that he had used a special pill that gave him a boost.
Following that, Devan challenged Augheimer again. However, the pill came with restrictions and could only be used once a year, or its effects would be reduced. Devan had already taken the pill once, and a second consumption led to its effects being lowered significantly.
It had taken Devan all of his might to defeat Augheimer back then, and the weakened effects of the pill undoubtedly confirmed that he would never be able to return to the state he had been in.
Devan challenged Augheimer for the next ten days and lost to him in every single battle. This was what caused him to resent Augheimer, and in turn, made Devan want to kill him.
Devan was already a member of the Dragon Killers, and Jimmy also liked him a lot. Thus, he told Jimmy what happened, and a plot against Augheimer was formed.
Wilbur knew that it was unwise for a cultivator to expose their full powers, and Augheimer''s high ranking in the Azure Dragon Training Grounds would only get him into more trouble in the future.
"You''re not going to the training grounds anymore. Wait for my news," said Wilbur. "Alright," nodded Augheimer.
The three of them headed out and were about to leave the snowy grounds when a chilly breeze struck them, and the temperature began to drop rapidly.
A snowke fell from the air and was about tond three feet in front of Wilbur when it was sliced in half. Wilbur swerved sharply to the left just as a needle flew past him.
The next second, Wilbur detected a few dozen cultivators within a hundred-meter radius around him. He released his Azure Dragon energy aura, erging his astral defense to envelop himself along with Felix and Augheimer.
Right after doing this, a few dozen needles came hurtling toward the astral defense. They sprang off it and fell to the ground, just as Dalton appeared with over fifty members of the Dragon yer Organization.
"So, it''s you, Dalton!"
Wilbur was honestly shocked at how evil Dalton was. He had seemed so meek and docile at the City Lord''s quarters, only to be ambushing Wilbur outside of Buck Town.
"We meet again, Mister Penn."
Dalton smirked at Wilbur, eyeing him like a predator stalking its prey. Wilbur said, "We don''t know each other, Dalton. Why are you doing this?"
Dalton replied, "You might be working for Lord Edmund, but you''re also a dragon n cultivator. You could fool others, but you can''t fool me. I do have respect for Lord Edmund, but we''re not in his quarters anymore. Buck Town is a bloodthirsty ce, where murder runs rampant without needing any reason. Do you think Lord Edmund would have any reason to question me about attacking you out here, Wilbur?"
Wilbur sneered. "You might be able to avoid Lord Edmund''s wrath, but doing this does not serve you at all. You''ve got the wrong guy. I''m not a dragon n cultivator."
