The balls of light exploded, sending Gray and Carl flying through the air. Theynded heavily on the ground and coughed out a mouthful of blood as the barrier vanishedpletely.
"What the... How?"
Milton stared at Wilbur in disbelief before turning to Gray and Carl. "Are you two alright?"
Gray''s chest heaved up and down. "We''re alright. Mister Penn actually went easy on us." He then turned to Wilbur and said with a raspy voice, "Thank you, Mister Penn."
Despite the fact that Gray and Carl were rather despicable, Wilbur and Felix were supposed to be taking over the Chris family. Thus, Wilbur felt like he should limit himself to teaching Gray and Carl a lesson about who they were going up against so they would never dare to challenge Wilbur and Felix in the future.
Wilbur raised an eyebrow at Milton. "Do you have anything else to say about the battle, Elder Milton?"
Milton turned back to Wilbur, getting down on one knee with a hand on his scepter. "I, Elder Milton, humbly wee Mister Wilbur Penn and Lord Felix Horne, the new leader of the Chris family!"
The other members of the Chris family got on their knees as well. "Wee, Mister Wilbur Penn and Lord Felix!"
Wilbur turned to Felix, who said, "Alright, you can all get up now. Make sure that Gray and Carl have their wounds tended to. Let''s have a chat, Elder Milton."
Felix, having been a steward before, knew very well how to manage the Chris family. He had organized the dozens of ounts owned by the family in just two days, even getting someone to make a copy of them to be sent to Babbit.
Over in the secret chamber, Firton got down on one knee as he said, "That Wilbur Penn really is something else, my Lord. Gray and Carl attacked him together, but they didn''t even get him to retaliate at full force."
"What? Wilbur went easy on them?"
"Yes, he did."
"That''s strange. Gray and Carl have been in the Chris family for three thousand years. How could they have lost to Wilbur? That guy''s got less than two thousand years of cultivation in him."
Firton said, "I think it''s possible, Lord Babbit. Talent ys a huge part in cultivation, too. Wilbur''s most likely reached mid-Exalted level, and he''s just really, really good at cultivation for him to reach it so soon."
"What? How is that even possible?"
Firton, "It is. At the same time, it might also have something to do with the five years Wilbur spent in the Azure Dragon Lake. You know how the special energy aura in the Azure Dragon Lake is able to boost a cultivator''s powers."
"Oh my, I almost forgot." Babbit''s eyes shed with a vicious look. "Well, they can just be in charge of the Chris family for now, then. I need people to help me out anyway."
