After two tries, Edmund knew that there was no way he could absorb the energy aura from the Azure Dragon Lake. This meant that the energy aura in his body was of a contrasting nature, thus he would not be able to benefit from the Azure Dragon Lake.
However, there was no way he could tell anyone about this. If the other City Lords found out, they would be sure to rece Edmund. Yet if the energy aura in the Azure Dragon Lake remained the same, George and the others would eventually sense something off as well.
Thus, Edmund knew that he was going to have to find a cultivator who could absorb the energy aura in the Azure Dragon Lake. Maybe Felix, or that guy named Wilbur Penn. Maybe Edmund could borrow their bodies to get it done.
George chuckled. "Taking the ce of the Reyne family head, then slowly taking over the other three families to increase your power. It''s truly a brilliant idea, Edmund."
Edmund heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing those words, ncing at George nervously. At least George was not an enemy of his for now.
Edmund said, "Mister George, surely you didn''te all this way to hear about such boring news?"
The nine City Lords were all busy with the affairs of their respective towns and hardly had the time to go snooping around for useless information. No cultivator wished to be spied on like this. It was an act of great disrespect.
Georgeughed. "Oh, don''t say that, Edmund. You''re right, I didn''t juste to hear about what''s happening in Buck Town. I have a message for you."
"Oh?"
"My master told me that a dragon n cultivator has entered Buck Town. No matter what happens, he wishes for you, City Lord Edmund, to spare this cultivator''s life."
"What? A dragon n cultivator?"
Edmund was shocked to hear the words. Dragon n cultivators were extremely rare. Edmund himself had not seen one in Buck Town for nearly a thousand years. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, as sure as I can be."
"But all of the major towns have Dragon yer Organizations of their own, don''t we? Besides, even if this cultivator was from the dragon n, I doubt he''d be willing to expose himself just like that. Even I wouldn''t know where he is."
"Well, that''s a given," said George. "My master isn''t saying that you need to look out for or take care of this dragon n cultivator from a lower dimension. He''s just hoping that you will, upon finding out his identity, give him some help, or at the very least, spare his life."
"Alright, I''ll do that. I''ll protect the dragon n cultivator if he appears."
Edmund agreed to the request without hesitation. He was closest to George out of all the City Lords, and George himself was a dragon n cultivator. The fifth main town, Walker Town, was the only main town where the dragon n was
considered to be respectable. The dragon n was far from what it used to be, or George would never have taken the time toe all the way to Buck Town for the sake of one cultivator.
Despite the fact that the other seven City Lords had joined forces to create the Dragon yer Organization, it had infiltrated all nine towns, and the dragon n cultivators were facing oppression at an all-time high. Despite this, Edmund knew that George was one to exploit others, and thus deemed him worth befriending.
That was why Edmund was willing to help George out. At least he would not be on his own among the nine City Lords. Two against seven was definitely better than one against eight.
Besides, Edmund was currently in desperate need of George''s help.
"Alright, then. Since you''ve agreed to help me out, I''ll be taking my leave, Edmund."
George disappeared into the air after that. It turned out that this was not George''s true body, but just a clone of his.
"A dragon n cultivator in Buck Town, and now of all times?" Edmund mumbled to himself.
Just then, a servant walked in and said, "My Lord, Steward Horne is requesting your audience."
